yshtola and urianger already had their "breakthrough" albeit it didnt change their personality that much. yshtola going through that "rebirth" its pretty much her arc which sadly i must say its the most boring compare to other scion

and urianger was portray as mysterious entity at first, but after we knew that he is fully on "good guy" side, we know see him more on the bright side with him sometime doing the comedy gag

yshtola and urianger has the weakest character growth in my opinion while thancred is the strongest one (i mean he start as aladdin sinbad personality and now he is literal batman) and alpi is just below thancred.

either alisae hasnt got her "breakthrough" story or its already done but its so weak we didnt realize it lol

I hope not, I personally like having the same characters around as we progress I enjoy the sense of progression and seeing them grow and just interacting with the same faces. It's one of my favourite things about 14, even going beyond the Scions, seeing characters I met in the past, even in side stories or for a single instance in the MSQ come back around. I've never cared for death in narrative I don't feel like it adds much or needs to be there, in fact I often feel like it dose the opposite, a good death can be compelling but I'd rather see things keep moving.
The character deaths in Lord of the Rings was pretty much just one for the main cast, (that stuck) and I never really found myself thinking "Man, this would have been better if X died"
I hope the Scions stick around, I hope we meet more characters and I hope they don't resort to killing people off because "deep story"

Thancred and Urianger have grown on me, mostly because of them sitting around moaning about getting old and their knees hurting and stuff, worryingly relatable.

Wanting to kill those particular scions seems a bit redundant at this point.

... I mean I wouldn't mind killing Minfilia a few more times? Ya know, for old times sake.

I really like Alisaie, especially how she is with Alphinaud. But I am not happy with what they have done to her in shadowbringers..I know that a lot of the NPCs love our WoL but was it really necessary to make Alisaie into such a jealous person? (She is still not an adult too..) It has taken away from her character imo.

hmmmm.... I don't have the desire to kill'em, but would love to have more dynamic with them.
The role play battles were nice, it made me look at them as fighters and not the WoL as their pokemonster. (Go get'em WoL!!! I chose you!)
A skill like an ultimate to call them at dungeon would be nice (random scion) not strong as the limit break. (Just would love to imagine Tataru using /panic aggroing mobs like a Hallowed Ground)

Could not disagree more with the OP. I quite like the Scions, and I was glad they played such a major part in Shadowbringers. It was really the first time since ARR that everyone was together, for the most part. In HW, it was you and Alphinaud for the main story. The others started showing up post-Heavensward. In Stormblood, it was you, Lyse and Alisaie. The others didn't really get involved until post-Stormblood.

With ShB everyone was present. Even Minfilia. And for the first time, they felt like family. They were willing to risk their lives to save you, and they absolutely were there to help you defeat Emet-Selch. While I agree I'd like to see the story move forward with new characters, the Scions will always hold a special place in my heart.

    Y'shtola could go and I wouldn't mind.

The number of times she's been teased as dying has had me rolling my eyes out of their sockets. That aside, I feel like she has got the most generic development of the long term scions. Urianger has her beat as this burden-to-bear whatever-it-takes character. Thancred has undergone major growth and now has a father figure role. The twins have both basically grown up in front of you. As middling as Cid is, he's got better back development and support cast for his character arcs. Minfilia has undergone major remodelling and plot enhancements.

Yeah. Y'shtola can go, "for real this time."

Or the writers can do something with her character. Either would do.

Edit: I know Cid's not a scion but he just came to mind anyways.
