Don't Introduce New Titles for Next Ishgard Restoration

The dev team previously said that the same titles would be available for each Ishgard Resoration season so that players who missed out on top 12 or top 100 had a chance to do it, and you only had to reach that rank once to get the title you wanted.

It looks like the devs have changed their mind on this and I really would not like to see this happen.

The 10 days of the Ishgard Resoration were some of the most unfun days in my time playing FFXIV. Tons of stress and long nights of gathering and crafting, I lost more sleep in that 10 days than I ever did doing progression raiding.

Please don't have even more exclusive titles. Let people get the old ones again. I don't want to be forced to do that 10 days of gathering ever again, it's extremely draining and there's going to be even more cutthroat competition this time now that we know how exactly it works.

Yeah this would be terrible for everyone. Those of us that went through it the first time don't want to go through it again (and again and again every season), and those that missed out shouldn't have to basically be locked out of it forever due to the same people/bots clogging the top 12 every season.

That being said, there was no mention of a restoration season happening in 5.3 so it seems like they aren't having another until at least 5.4. Which means if the seasons are going to be this uncommon there will be even worse competition for the top 12. I know a lot of people (almost including myself) basically passed on the last season under the assumption the next season would be relatively soon afterwards (with some people even believing the next season would start as soon as the previous ended).

i think the rankings giving the "saint" and "beatus" of the firmanent won't change. It's the "Nest's Own" titles that will become unattainable once 3rd stage commences since we're done rebuilding the New Nest. Yoshi-p even said himself, don't hang on to the level 2 diadem mats they will become worthless/useless once 5.31 comes along. (much like how level 1 stuff became useless/pointless).

and if it was that unfun, why do it? is a title that important to you?

Yeah ive been collecting achievements since I started playing, it is important to me. I was willing to do the grind once because I was assured that I would never have to do it again.

Hm yeah where did they mention this? I'd like to see the actual quotes for myself. I do remember someone somewhere mentioned a reddit post about a vague translation of "new titles", but the lodestone site didn't mention anything about a new season, and I just watched Meoni's video on all the new stuff coming in 5.3 and he didn't mention it either, which is why I assumed there just wasn't one.

And as for why I did it if it was "unfun" it's because it was a grueling challenge that I was and am still proud I was able to slog through and come out on top. Just because some one did something difficult/time consuming/stressful once doesn't mean they are happy to go through it again and again, both in games and in real life.

Huh. Yeah that's the video I watched, didn't catch anything about ishgardian restoration. Must not have been paying attention. I sort of zoned out here and there when he fangirled about teddy bears and umbrellas lol.

EDIT: Yeah reading the reddit post it certainly seems like new ranking titles doesn't it? That is just so wrong that they flat out told us they weren't going to do that, then just spit in our faces and did it anyways without any hesitation. Here's hoping it is a mistranslation somehow.

I still don't know why this is so important to some people. It's just a title... a title that is pretty lame so i never see people use it.

I think what you’ve read was a mix between a mistranslation and Yoshi-P being intentionally vague.
I’m pretty confident that ranking in the top 12 in season 2 isn’t going to have new titles.

If you actually read the interview it’s not really as defined as whoever on that reddit post translated it as.
Reddit is such a terrible site I wish people would stop using it lol
