If you don't like dots don't play a class with dot management?
I personally like dot classes. :T

Pro tip- just use a class without dots.
Or one of those dots that you don't need to upkeep like Nin's terrible Shadowfang rework (that almost everyone hates) or Gunbreaker's.
I'm sorry but removing all dots is a terrible idea and they need to be strong in order to be worth using.
It’s time fir you to unplug your keyboard

They had been removing DoTs though, eve from jobs that are built on them as Flaming Arrow and Miasma II can attest.
With that said. I do think that some jobs need DoTs in other to have a complex rotation, such as SAM, PLD, BLM and DRG. I'd also argue that Healers and BRD should have a way to have AoE DoTs (including the aforementioned skills) but I do think that they a token one is unnecessary since WAR, DRK (Fracture and Scourge were removed), DNC, RDM (both have no DoT), were doing fine without them.
The tl'dr:
- I think certain jobs would use more DoT options, but they already have DoTs to start with to this day
- But I also think jobs moving forward should not have a DoT unless there is an actual point besides just to have it (as were in the case of Tanks not named Paladin)
Ton of people are complaining about DoT management like being a gameplay deterrent like DNC, MCH, RDM, WAR, and DRK (and technically NIN & GNB) don't exist.
The game has already been significantly dumbed down. Any more and it will literally have everyone with the average Duty Finder DRK rotation.

For some jobs I don't really see how a DoT adds much of anything except "here's another button to push because reasons". With how GNB is offensively, I don't see why it needs 1, let alone 2, but it does. Having 1 though isn't a bad thing, but as much I love GNB, DoTs seem more or less tacked on than for reasons unknown. They don't really feel ingrained in the "job fantasy". They are just...there.Ton of people are complaining about DoT management like being a gameplay deterrent like DNC, MCH, RDM, WAR, and DRK (and technically NIN & GNB) don't exist.

it's literally in there by the devs of the jobs to point newer players in the way of a correct rotation. For some jobs I don't really see how a DoT adds much of anything except "here's another button to push because reasons". just saying that there is "no intended rotation" for jobs on the forums does not change that there is one that is factored in with initial implementation for jobs and changes.
Bow Shock is mostly fine in my opinion with it being an ogcd. On the other hand, Sonic Break is weird with it being a weaponskill with a 60s cooldown. For some jobs I don't really see how a DoT adds much of anything except "here's another button to push because reasons". In some jobs they are mostly superfluous. Both Gunbreaker's Sonic Break and Blackmage's Thunder III could be dropped from the rotation and how both jobs' play would be relatively unchanged.it's literally in there by the devs of the jobs to point newer players in the way of a correct rotation.

That would cost BLM a movement ability and make Xeno much more rigid as you would have to use it in ice phase to cover MP ticks, while at the moment you can swap T3 and Xeno if things line up correctly or you force an alignment with Sharpcast. Optimizing T3 is a minigame by itself, removing it would make the job a lot simpler.
