Would it ever be possible for players to do emotes that require two people to do like a high five?
I would really like the option for a bridal carry emote, even if you have to be married to do it

I've been wanting a piggy-back emote for forever.

I honestly wish /embrace was something a bit more than /hug with special text. Maybe they can upgrade it someday, but for now it seems they'd rather focus on new things on the emote side.
I've really wanted a hand holding emote, I feel that, piggyback, and maybe even joke lala nanamo holding, could all be done through a unique sort of mount. May put it in the emote section still, over actually revealing it's a mount, but it would basically be the pillon feature and allow for a series of logical conclusions like who is the driver or why many emotes can't/won't work while 'mounted'. Running around town holding hands like in Fable or in that mobile game 'sky' I think would be cute.
Having recently tried to do a "wedding photoshoot" using a character that hasn't actually done the quest and thus can't access the /embrace emote, it's not the same as /hug. Embrace leans in closer and has a different expression with closed eyes.
(Forgive the incoming showing-off...)
The third pic on this one was both characters using /hug. They don't get that close at all.
Third pic on this one has the bride using embrace vs groom using hug, and you can see it's a huge difference in how they're positioned.
This will only lead to debauchery and sin (visit Balmung when you have the chance)
They adressed this on at least one FanFest (the one in Paris) - I dont remember the details of the explantion, but it doesnt seem to easly possible.
Someone asked about getting a High-Five emote and Yoshi-Ps response was basically that if they implement it they cant do that in such a way that the two characters actually interact with each other - which is why they figured they wouldnt make such an emote in the first place (but would consider it if people would be cool with having to do the alignment themselves).
I recall him mentioning that part of the reason those things are so difficult is the extreme height difference you can have between characters thats probably not that easy to circumvent. I dont know anything about programming, so I dont know how easy (or even possible) it would be to set it up in such a way that a Viera will automatically crouch to high-five a lalafell... though for things like /carry or /piggyback one has to wonder how that would work with lalafell aswell as the very tall/heavy races. Could a lalafell /carry a Roegadyn?
Hah, yeah they'd have to completely reinvent how any emotes worked for Lalafells... but more than that, simple height differences between the human-proportioned characters would make it a nightmare. At very least you'd need several variations of pose for different character combinations, and even then it would probably be thrown off by height scaling.I dont know anything about programming, so I dont know how easy (or even possible) it would be to set it up in such a way that a Viera will automatically crouch to high-five a lalafell... though for things like /carry or /piggyback one has to wonder how that would work with lalafell aswell as the very tall/heavy races. On getting characters to kneel automatically, that might be simpler in itself - I know that's already the case where other races kneel down for some emotes interacting with Lalafells (I think hug and/or pet?) but was also surprised when the same thing happened for an Au Ra character targeting one of those emotes at my min-height Midlander... so it could be set for each race (most likely) or it could be calculated on height. Someone else would need to test it.
Nah, the Lalafell l whips out a tray and holds it over their head for the Roegadyn to climb on. And then they run around with them proudly standing on the tray.
Or maybe the Roegadyn gets pointe shoes and stands on pointe on the Lalafell's head. With pink bow and all to tie them, fluttering in the wind as they move. Roega feet are to big to fit on the small heads otherwise.

Oh, you're right about that! I dont know how I could forget about it, seeing how my Roe constantly kneels down to /pet or /hug lalafell and other smaller characters. It seems to be based on the height difference between the two characters right at that moment btw - my partner is playing a max-height female Mi'qote and my character usually doesnt kneel down for hugs, but if Vidu is standing a bit higher (on a rock or chair or something), she'll kneel down regardless. I've also run into Mi'qote and Au Ra that arent max-height and made my character kneel down for /hugs. So pretty sure its based on the actual height of the characters!
