Every expansion has added a melee job and a DPS job, sometimes in the same job, sometimes not. Reaper ticked both the DPS and melee boxes in Endwalker, but Shadowbringers had the melee box ticked by Gunbreaker and the DPS box ticked by Dancer.

I can't see them adding another tank or another healer any time soon, so I think the next melee job will be a DPS. Given that Dragoon being the only job that used maiming was apparently a concern, I suspect the next melee range job will use scouting gear.

I think if we get 2 jobs in 7.0 it will be a melee DPS and a ranged magical DPS, if they only add 1 I think it will be a melee DPS.
