Well my favourite ARR and beyond job is RDM... so it plays exactly like it did on day one of SB.
My favourite job before that was BLM which all the way back in 1.0 played more like it does in FFXI where you picked the best damaging spell for the situation. The astral fire and umbral ice rotation where you switched between burn and recovery phases didn't exist. And before even that, BLM was the Conjurer class and the supreme solo-er. (yes I know it is the advanced job of the THM, I'm talking from before they added jobs.) They had all the elemental nukes, heals, and buffs which made them a one-lala AoE wrecking crew.
