Question Anyone ever tried FF XIV both on PS4 Slim and PS4 PRO?

I'm looking to trade in my PS4 PRO for a Slim version since its cheaper and tbh the Pro isnt much of a big improvement.

I was wondering though how will it affect FF XIV. Are loading times longer? Will the game feel a lot worse?

Need to know from people who played both!

The slim is basically the same as the original PS4 with a slightly larger hard drive. So speaking from that end, I played on both the original PS4 and now on the PS4 pro. The differences are minimal, loading times are slightly shorter on the pro, but that's about it. It will be personal impression, though, as to if you think it's a LOT worse...

There is a better graphics setting on the PS4 pro you can use if I'm not mistaken. I've since switched to PC so it's been awhile since I've been on psn.

The graphic settings were added in the PS3 era when PS4 support came around, so both consoles can turn the graphical settings back to PS3 ones.

I was taking about higher quality settings on the Pro but I could be wrong it's been awhile.

You 100% get better fps on the pro. Without a doubt

The difference between PS4 Pro and a regular PS4 (which the slim basically is) is pretty substantial imo. Way better fps, loading screens are overall shorter and if you have a 4k TV you can improve your graphics further. I don't have that good of a screen to play on, but it looks and runs fine regardless.

I have slim and pro but I don't see any difference. Loading times are almost the same... sadly. Maybe you load 0.5 sec faster on pro...and that's all.

Why are you looking to trade in the highest tier model of the system available for one that is "cheaper"? The cost of a PS4 slim would still be higher than your trade-in value at most places... So you'd be trading in a technically superior model and then likely still paying some out of pocket to get the slim? Sounds... strange?

I have played on both and don't feel like there's a massive difference between them, but I have an SSD in both so load times are nonexistent regardless. Nevertheless, if you already own the pro there doesn't seem to be any sense in switching to the slim.

SSD memory is what makes loading faster; the better cpu/gpu on the ps4 pro is more for graphical and computational output, which when mix together increases your fps and decreases hardware to software latency. You should never trade a stronger console for a weaker one, unless you really need the $50 gamestop will give you for the trade.
