    Cannot install the game

    I recently obtained a new computer and have been unable to install the game. I am running Windows 10.

    I downloaded the FFXIV installer off the official website, but it will not launch after choosing a region, instead showing the following error:



    I have tried the following:
    • Redownloading the installer
    • Doing a clean boot
    • Installing windows updates
    • Downloading and installing the Visual C++ packs

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Does this error happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    I can't install FFXIV to begin with. This is the error given to me when I attempt to launch the installer. As I noted, I have tried a clean boot of my computer before running it, so other programs don't appear to be the issue.

    We would like to ask for a DXDIAG Report. From the Windows desktop, please type "DXDIAG" in the tool bar search field. Click on "DXDIAG" under 'Best Results' to run the command. In the DXDIAG window, click "Save All Information..." and save it to a .txt file. Please then reply with the provided DXDIAG information.
