I think fate grinding to get monster parts is a step in the right direction for Fates.
They just need to keep updating the shops to keep it relevant for end game crafting so it becomes viable.

Maybe fate grinding to get an extra XP buff for other content is also the way to go, that way there's more incentive to fate grind while waiting for dungeon queues.

I find it funny that in all the years I've played MMOs, there's always some random x-feature that has or is destroying the overworld, and these types of threads/post/opinions always, to a fault, pop during content lulls.

It's interesting how people in general tend to ignore the "issues" as long as there is something to do.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

The reward could just be existing beast tribe mounts but with an aura; Ifrit's would be the Firedrake with a fire aura/glow around it. Bismark's would be Sanuwa with wind + water aura on it

And since these rewards would have a timer on them that expires it'll have you coming back to fates to get it again in the future if you really want to use that mount again. And since it's existing mounts no one can complain.

I just want scenes like this that would really add dynamism to the game in real time

Ultimately this is that kind of recyclable content that would add so many points to the open world: lore (beast tribes get scared that you're doing so many fates in their habitat), easy reward with a cool touch (it could even be existing primal weapons with a bigger/different glow), etc.

The requirement would be something like completing 100 fates in the zone that primal appears.
My "Critical Engagements" idea doesn't sound so farfetched now that we've seen what Bozja will be like.
I know it's an instance, different from the normal open world but putting that aside, the concepts I brought up about locking the fights to 20 people or something are not crazy ideas now haha. It will be a reality in the game starting in patch 5.35.

The "open world" zones are just instances as well by the way. If they can just carry over the system from the eureka instance into the open world it can work as well. Have a beast tribe npc where you register for the critical engagement "primal fight."

Replace Fates with skirmishes going forth into future expansions. Fates for leveling is an outdated idea, instead of using them for leveling use them for the type of rewards I suggested, like "timed" mounts or weapons with extra effects which you will need to do the fight again to obtain it again. Making the rewards "timed" is great because it recycles the content and it's all vanity so having to get it again isn't detrimental. Maybe have an achievement system where after you clear the open world primal 500 times you get to keep the mount/weapon/glamour permanently.

I really enjoyed leveling by fates. I can't stand potd. Would love for fates to be worth it again. It gives me something to do while waiting for dps queues for roulettes/dungeons. I mostly use command missions now to level but I'm sick of doing the same dungeons all the time, lol. Fates always made me feel part of the world.
