How do I start level 70 Summoner quest?

I really don't like that they locked even accepting the job quests behind completing story. Would be better if you could at least pick up the quest even if you can't go to the area they tell you to go to. Especially since currently you can get to like level 55 before even entering the Heavensward content

I wouldn't say "not at all," LOL - by the time my level 60 job quest is available, I'll probably be level 73.

No need to outlevel content by that much. If you use multiple jobs to share the xp, you can stay close to on-level all the time. But it is your choice how to play the game.

It is related to the fact that when there is these locks for class/job quests, the quests are also locked behind needing the next expansion. Basically, the class/job quests are part of each expansion, and no quests that are part of an expansion will be available until you have finished the MSQ of the prior expansion.

Figured it out - it's because I haven't done the MSQ "Far Edge of Fate" [the final quest of an expansion] yet. So I'm about 10 MSQs away from hitting that, and only then will the next Summoner Job quest [from the expansion after that] pop up

The job quests for an expansion require the completion of the previous expansion.

They were responding to your information about the MSQ guide UI and missed the one sentence at the end. Not hard to figure out, so there's no need for the sass.

I'm aware. I guess for me I'd rather just have the job quest open in my journal and be unable to complete it because I can't access a specific zone (remember this was entirely possible during the days of Rhauban Extreme when you could accept job quests that required you to go to the Ruby Sea while having not ability to actually go to the Ruby Sea because you hadn't advanced the expansion story far enough) than have to remember that I need to go back and pick up the quest later.

This is especially true for job quests in the 50-60 range where your skills are tied to completing the quest. So it's a lot of extra stuff to track through just to get your skill set after you enter Ishgard.
