This resonates with me most out of everything you posted. It feels like they gave the healers DoTs to give them more to do, but having to keep an eye on a timer isn't engaging and is often just more stressful.

As for your card effects, they're nifty, though I question the utility of a card that buffs defense. AST would need to be able to handle all mechanics regardless of if it managed to draw the mitigation card at the right time, so it's kind of awkward.
Same with the healing buff.
The kit would have to be balanced around their absence since you might never get them, so I'm not sure I really grasp what they'd be bringing to the table.
