Instant ports are a vicious cycle. It's the whole "give a inch lose a mile" with the scenario let people have a taste of instant teleportation and how easy it makes the game for them.
Then they can't just be happy with that they always need more and more and more. May as well go PSO and have a lobby with zones you warp into.
How about.... we set anima to a max of 50, and you can only teleport between Aetheryte Crystals and Aetheryeal Gates in the same region?
So instead of teleporting from anywhere, you have to physically go to the Ul'dah Aetheryte, then select a destination somewhere in Thanalan, and that expends one anima.
If you want to travel to a camp or gate somewhere in La Noscea, guess what? Take the airship or ferry to Limsa and use it's Aetheryte.

I had roughly the same ideas about how I would "fix" anima if it were up to me. I wouldn't reduce anima cost though. Add to this that you can't travel to an aetheryte without first having physically attuned to it yourself and it would be perfect IMO.How about.... we set anima to a max of 50, and you can only teleport between Aetheryte Crystals and Aetheryeal Gates in the same region?

I don't think it would be a big deal if people recovered 1 or 2 more anima per recovering anima tic while in an inn.
Just my opinion.
That kinda wouldn't change anything, because people will just get it in their heads "Oh! I get more anima now! I can burn through it more!"
And they'll still be stuck in the same position a few days later.

Meh I like the idea, regenerating 1-2 more anima per tick would be a nice little bonus for staying in the inns... but with the ability to return to your city inn in 1.22, seems like anima will be even easier to conserve.
Personally my opion is, with that change in 1.22 theres really no reason for them to make it easier to get anima, I'd rather SE dev. team focus on more important things,.. plus do we really need our players getting even lazier by having even more handed to them?

I'm all over the world, almost every day and I manage to keep over 90 Anima. What are you people doing with it?

I have always been a fan of a out of the way shrine that you could give offerings to in order to temporarily boost your anima regen. but thats just me.

I think it should increase some when in Inn
