I personally want the Mystic Knight in the style of Minwu from FF2, like Bartz's appearance in the class in 5.

Its funny I made Rune Knight and all its abilities as a joke one night when I couldn't sleep and the next time I opened up that doc I was surprised with how well it turned out. Basically its a Twinblade job that shares the same gear as DRG but it gimmick is that it uses Quickenings as its magic. Basically its Gabranth from FFXII but plays more like his dissida version where you want to stay in EX mode to have the Twinblades split into two swords. Basic gameplay revolves around getting your gauge up then entering EX mode (I called it "Awakening") and trying to keep your rotations to build quickening gauge for those devastating moves like Pyroclasm or Fulminating Darkness. Your EX gauge is constantly depleting so it rewards aggressive play and max uptime.
Twin blade as in a single double sword ? or as in two weapons aka duel weildingIts funny I made Rune Knight and all its abilities as a joke one night when I couldn't sleep and the next time I opened up that doc I was surprised with how well it turned out. My Rune Knight concept was a support melee DPS with what is effectively a Lightsaber and the ability to conjure up Runes of the 12 for buffs.
Also uses the En- spells.
If we got a rune knight, it would have to be a Disciple of Magic melee DD. I do think we already have too many sword jobs, but I can get over that if it's otherwise something we don't have yet, like a DoM melee DD. I definitely couldn't get behind the idea of adding yet another tank with a large slashy weapon and heavy armor; we already have four of those.
But yeah, if it's an interesting enough novel magic DD, then sure, let's get one of those.
(I'm not saying this because you said anything about it being a tank; just that the last FF to have a rune knight (Rune Fencer) made it a tank.)
Besides transformation job I don't really have a job I would /really/ like to see, but right next to that is stuff I think would be very interesting and I feel a melee magic damage dealer would be that. I've nothing against if it was chemist or something, I'd still okay and very probably have fun, but I do get a bit exited thinking about melee magic jobs.
