"Everybody hates Eureka, or is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome" is how I'd phrase it.

... I hate Eureka the most because it took away the actual good relic grinds (i.e., a reason to actually play the game we're paying for that doesn't require statics or the heartbreak of party finder.)
But there are a lot of other good reasons to despise it.

Eureka isn't as hated as a vocal portion of the community likes to make out. A lot of people, myself included, enjoyed it quite a bit - and though there's certain issues with the content it's not really anything that could not be smoothed out and expanded upon in whatever the equivalent of Eureka was meant to be.

Eureka was the first thing in this game that I actually loved and looked forward to doing whenever I logged in. Plenty of people enjoyed it man.

Each Eureka zone is incredibly boring until you get within about 5 levels of cap for the zone (when you finally start getting full rewards from most NMs and can contribute meaningfully to prep and boss fights). That has always been my main problem with Eureka. At level cap, its a fun romp around a zone. Prep and kill NMs, get tomes and relics. Eureka is by far my favorite way to farm poetics for my Anima weapons (still not done).

But prior to level cap, you're a worthless party member, only capable of tossing out heals to help your party, and getting one-shot by literally everything. At launch, the first 20 hours of each Eureka zone was best played AFK, and that should be embarrassing for the devs involved.

I don't think the devs need to do much to improve the current Eureka content, other than maybe allowing low level players to get XP when grouped with someone more than 3 levels higher. They've already made some huge nerfs, and working through the content a second time on a new character has been much faster.

However, I really hope they are designing the Resistance zones to be more accessible to new players, and not require the same boring AFK grind that was present in Eureka.

I liked Eureka, that said it certainly can use improvements.

    Eureka as a whole:
-allow party level sync so that should newer players go in, older players can help them level up by killing same mobs
-Quest locations not in stupidly dangerous locations looking at you Pagos final part amongst Morbol and Griffins where can get 1 shot just after coming out cutscene
-add new mob markers like eye/ear etc to indicate how the mob detects a player
-add a how to make section for previously made Logos actions

    Anemos:
-add the logos system to it

    Pagos:
    -add logos system
-move Dragons from cliffs to just inside caves they were guarding

    Pyros:
-add Hydatos logos items to it

    Hydatos:
-increase fate drops to min 7 - max 15 for non Support NMs

    BA:
-allow everyone in instance to enter, it already scales to amount of people in there, no harm in letting anyone entering saves any BA drama that may arise if new players enters a portal just to see what it is like.

I think be nice to add a mutation/adaptation marker to mobs as well but if can only add 1 marker to them I think detection is the better choice.

Looking at it from the relic point of view I kind of agree with the haters. I would argue its the most pain in the ass relic to complete currently, as it requires a number of other people for long stretches of time to make proper progress on it. Not to mention the initial wall of leveling.

Otherwise, Eureka is fine, but tying the relic exclusively to it was a mistake.

Thankfully, they all look like a glowing anglerfish stretched over a low polygon weapon, so I don't feel pressured to do more than the 3 I already have.

This was my main issue with it personally. That and I legitimately hated how Eureka played when I first touched it and disliked the fact that most people told me I had to slog through content I disliked for it to get 'better'. That said from what I've heard about Hydratos I have high hopes for the second iteration and intend to go in with an open mind.

Major caveat here however, just because I didn't like Eureka doesn't mean it's bad. Not all content needs to appeal to me personally.

Have you ever done BA and upgraded your eureka gear to +2 with elemental bonus?

As a tank I can solo everything.
Pazuzu? Easy solo farm and kill for a friend.
Cassie? Maybe need a friend for some DPS.
Every normal NM? Just pull everything and kill it with aoes.

Also on light DC we have about 30+ player every evening on every island and a fate spawning group.
You can farm a full relic weapon in 1-2 days.

Nope, the horrible drama around portals and the part about working together with dozens of random discord faces in... not quite hard, but punishing content kept me away. Also, I wasn't really interested in any of the rewards. Extra elemental levels didn't mean much when the instances and trains were full and healthy. I also don't have any of the other upgrade items like Cassies.

But 1-2 days? From zero to full Eureka weapon? Or 1-2 days per area? I would find the former doubtful.

If its the latter my statement still stands, as if you don't get enough people in the instance or you play out of main hours, the progress takes a nose dive. Most of the other relic steps aren't as annoying, and progressable solo or in popular content.

I mean, no one forces you to get or use the fully completed weapons; I got Xiphias specifically because I liked the model and didn't bother upgrading it beyond that because I like it as is. It's the only reason why I ever stepped foot in Eureka (except to go back after to get the Tyrannosaur mount ). I think it's important to look at Relic weapons as committing time to get something you like, not wasting time getting something you don't like because you feel like you have to.
