While gathering today I was thinking of how they may enhance the experience of gathering when 2.0 rolls around. I know they have plans to add rare loot and nodes but how will they go about it. Will our ability list increase or will we still have the basic moves that let us find nodes.

Basically this is the idea I have in mind. When gathering from a node you have a chance to obtain "intuition" that may lead you to a node that may contain rare materials. When you obtain this intuition you have to identify the right creature in order to continue with your intuition. You do this by using the following abilities.

Observe:Allows you to identify the personality of a monster in the area (Observe is used to deduce whether or not you are targeting the right monster to "Follow")
Follow: Pursue the target to advance your intution (This move basically means you picked your answer and if you're right you're intuition will continue but if you're wrong then you lose your intution)

The above two are the basic moves to ID and discover rare nodes however there are more abilities that may need to be used to influence the personality and hostility towards you. The moves would basically stem down from either angering the creature, making them happy, sad, etc, and by influencing these emotion it may trigger them to go to their safe spot or trigger to show you their hidden secret based on what your intution tells you.

Basically you may find that the mob in which you gain your intution from is mad so you have to make them happy before you can follow them. Basically use commands which use MP or food which you can obtain from culinary class. But overall the idea is to expand the idea of DoL by making them adventurers and explorers that seek the rarest of materials.

But ya this is just a basic idea I figured I'd throw it out here and see what others thought of it, but I think it could lead to an interesting game experience as DoL will actually have a reason to interact with creatures rather then hide from them.
