Anyone else get these tells

For the last 2-3(maybe more) months I get tells from random people,
usually from different servers saying something like
SE should not allow the next patch at a sensitive time, and to vote against it before they ruin the game.
They give a link(which I did not visit) which I can tell is not real, tho looks like it at a fast glance.

It’s a scam, it takes you to a phoney log in page, and steals your password and account.

There's been a handful of topics here on the lodestone regarding people who have fallen for the phishing link.
Sadly, there isn't anything we can do unless SE wants to get much more aggressive on their RMT detection (unlikely) other than just educating the masses. I'd like to think the majority of people will not fall for the most basic of phishing attempts, but it only takes one person to spread it further as they'll profit off that and even use the character for further tell spam.

It does seem like they've had a lot more success with their current approach then the original "free gil" nonsense, though.

Probably not.

"Love begets love, lets make things better" lasted a lot longer than Valentines.
And it's not like it specifically mentions 5.3, so the absurdity of it may only raise more eyebrows getting people to copy and paste the link.

I average a couple a week - and that's pretty much only logging on a few hours to get 450 allegory and water my plants.

It's a stolen account 99% of the time, from people who were foolish enough to use the link and log in.
The character behind the tells is innocent other than being ignorant of things. The actual phisher likely isn't going to be stopped so easily I suspect.

I got this same tell the other day, I warned my fc to not trust those tells in case they receive one, black listed that person.
