For instanced content you can get 100% learning rate. You go in synced(doesnt matter what party make up is), make sure the target uses the spell, and be alive when it dies. If you kill the target early or arent alive at the end, you get 0% learning rate. If you go unsynced the learning rate is reduced a good amount. Leads to some tough decisions between a guaranteed spell and a tough fight, or an easy fight you might do a dozen or more times. Glass dance was one i had to do around 10 times unsynced before learning the spell(the same party tried it synced 3 or 4 times and never got far enough into the script for her to use it).
