how does one use blue mage?

hello I have been off the game for some time (I missed a lot)
seance coming back I have adapted to most of the changes but blue mage confuses me.
mostly because I do not know how old some of the stuff i'm reading is or what has changed.

that said is it true you can learn blue magic while in other jobs or was that a lie?
if not then how does one learn blue magic when its use is so limited ?
(can not use duty finder)

while blue mage is a fun consent is it worth the grind when it use is so limited?

if square has lighted its restrictions seance it came out I would like to know. is it possible that it will not be a limited job one day?

alright first things first : you obtain magic by just witnessing it not getting hit you do need to hit it first though , you can learn magic from trial bosses, raid bosses, overworld mobs , dungeon bosses, doing the story/getting totems and carnival. they have a chance to drop their respective skill unless everyone in your party is a blue mage and maybe synced in which case the chance becomes 100%.Blue mage also has a higher exp gain cause he cant use duty finder unless the party is fully premade , if youre solo you can use party finder, which means you need to exp in the overworld. Ignore fates you can do it solo but the most efficient way is get a friend who is level 80 and can one shot mobs , dont be in a party with them else it wont work, tag a mob (1-50 go to coerthas on the bird tribe area , 50-60 look for mobs that are 5 levels above you then once you hit lvl 54 got to azys la on the tiamat area and hunt level 49) and have your friend kill them while you run and tag more mobs for him to kill. Once you have leveled to max which is about 2-3 hours start hunting for spells blue mage spellbook says where, check a guide if you dont feel like searching the overworld mobs plus some other spells have alternative ways to get such as . Carnival you dont want to be ill equipped it will help you learn the job a bit it also has weekly clears and rewards you with allied seals as well as some spells that are locked behind it , 2 of the actually doom and res. The blue end game consists of weekly clears of ex trials some of which give titles and achievements , there are some carnival challenges as well that provide titles but the biggest thing is the blue mage savage tier which needs to be cleared synced no echo and all blue mage which not only provides titles but if cleared gives one of the rarest mounts the morbol . The raid tier consists of twintania, nael , bahamut , a4s , a8s and a12s if you like me werent there when they were at their hype then this is the perfect oportunity to do them like they originaly were, weeeell mostly. 4 things : 1) blue being broken trivialises some mechanics, 2) blue being dps means that he needs to know all the mechanics that target using your role such in the case of gavel cause there are no roles(have fun learning 7 variations of one mech) 3) blue being a dps makes things much harder the tank role especially can die by a few autos if the server ticks are feeling funny 4) youre quite late in the hype train if you feel like doing blu so you need to join a discord server or ls or some friends in order to get help or get lucky in pf. Blue is extremely fun and despite all the hate it gets id prefer that they give us more limited jobs so that we can enjoy old content that we missed and even if we have done its a different experience as blu since the tools allow for different strategies. Blue is extremely fun and despite all the hate it gets id prefer that they give us more limited jobs so that we can enjoy old content that we missed and even if we have done its a different experience as blu since the tools allow for different strategies. I dont think blu will ever get unlimited and it shouldnt

it gets hate cause its a fan favourite job but cant play with the other jobs in the higher end content, not that those that complain about it do such kind of content =w=, its just people REEEEing all over. Also i only have a link for EU discord idk if i can post it here though they could probably show you a link for other servers

Thats an incredible over generalisation you just made there lmao which reeks if personal bias, for myself I run all kinds of endgame content as does everyone i know in game, and they all complain about it. You dont need to lie about people to talk about things you like. I could just as easily say everyone Ive seen defending BLU as fun hasnt even stepped into end game content/ is bad at it, but I know that isnt correct despite it being my experience, because in sure there does exist people that dont fit my description.

I dont know if it counts but i did get the morbol and i have gotten into savage not way too deep though id say maybe knees deep, and also alot of people that i know like blue , im just saying that most comments in the forums are people REEEEing , generally its about not being able to do content with other jobs specifically there is always someone that will say it cant raid with other jobs , alot of people will agree yet alot of them havent done raiding anyways ,its the usual group mentality of the forums, you can call me biased cause i like the job , i do try to be as objective as i can though.

Maybe one day it could be unlimited, the framework for an unlimited blue exists in the game, its just the will/vision of the devs that would stop it. They are likely prioritising other content and other new jobs which is unfortunate for those of us who adore BLU, but cannot find enjoyment in the limited job content that exists.

No you cannot learn blue magic while not on the job, I'm not sure who told you this but they are lying.
You can queue for dungeons using PF, you just cannot take randoms with you. As such you'll either need a premade party of 4, or you undersize it so you aren't attempting to pull random players in.

The grind isn't actually all that much of a grind. Actual job levels can be done in an hour or two, and the skills are all combat earned so it's a little more exciting than some other classes.

It will probably never be a not-limited job, so to speak. There's been no lightening on restrictions, and probably never will be. But honestly other than the level cap, this only limits you from doing a small amount of content. Deep Dungeons, and PvP. I can't think of anything else BLU can't do. In fact, doing some old endgame raids is really fun and refreshing as BLU, it gets you the morbol mount if you can complete them all so there's some fun and interesting endgame fights ready for you with some nice titles and mounts as rewards.
