    Just because you and some others you've talked to don't like it doesn't mean you are in the majority.

    The "silent majority" is probably non-monk players who don't give a damn either way.

    The only animation I'd say could do with being enhanced is True Strike. Dragon kick and demolish are fancy enough, and bootshine, twin snakes, and snap punch feel appropriate.

You got anime, of which there are many but including ones like Dragon Ball which arguably defined an era and influenced media around the world. You have fighting games, where studios like Capcom have made huge casts of often barehanded characters almost all compelling to look at. Even Final Fantasy itself with characters like Sabin, Zell, and Tifa. A pugilist is one of the easiest things to make look awesome. There's loads and loads and loads of inspiration out there, and the animation possibilities for when you don't have to think about where a held weapon is involved is huge. They could have done way better with monks in FFXIV.

    I'd be more worried about the inevitable clipping of current animations when the sks gets high enough. But i wouldnt mind some of the main gcd's getting new animations. Twin snakes, Snap punch and True strike are all quite bland tbh. Howling fist is sorely missed...

    I really do like some of the monk animations but the basic combos are pretty.. basic. They should at least evolve visually at some point in the levelling process sort of like how Machinist does.

    What's funny is their animations are actually the only thing I like about the class
    Obviously I can't stand playing it so I wouldn't care much if they changed or improved them, but in terms of boring animations... I mean they don't even hold a candle to things like scholar's Art of War

    I just hate the bouncing animation. I like focused powerful fighters that stand their ground rather agile quick footed martial artist.

    When comes to Monk fist fighters, i'd rather have Feng Wei over what we have now.

    I share your sentiment, all those kind of nonsensical spinning things that dont add up anything and the lack of impact on skills have, and the feeling of what that GIF owns, that is basically one single move, is what i wish for all the monks left in the game. and some fixing too, like Greased lightning effect instead of Aero around you making it something like actual lightning get rid of the eddy gordo capoeira moves that makes no sense (to me) or the flowers effect when casting Fist of Fire, the running animation is kind ridiculous, and since i heard monk main arent happy in term of stats and dps some tweak on that front would be much appreciate by those guys. i apologize for my bad english.

    Atleast monk doesn't have the awkward Ninja run- I'd have liked to choose between the way the player holds their weapons while they run - on Thief, player holds daggers differently with 1 blade close to them, tucked almost & the other lower which is good in my opinion BUT then on ninja, they go full naruto mong. An option would have been nice.
    I even hate most of the the BRD animations when they attack- the way they hold a bow for one, whoever designed it has never seen someone shoot a bow or hold a bow.
    Same with DRK; the way they hold their greatsword- talk about really sore elbows--- Just the stance alone needs a fix, to have the player hold the greatsword by their side as it would be with that kind of weight.

    But to add to what you're saying, Monk skills are blah looking from seeing them- some of them are just, forgettable at best. They don't need over-the top animations to look good; you can have something designed well without it being flashy, but it's SE we're talking- all flashy 1st, then quality tweaking much later--- Must like all of the unisex hairstyles, monk animations leave more to be desired.

    indeed, flashy stuff just straight up cover your character, i had to really zoom in to see what my character is doing. from a certain point of view tho, it's a good thing since i wont be able to clearly see the lackluster animation he has.
    ninja running animation is akward too indeed.
