    Market Retainer Summoning Bell Abusers?

Hello, I've come across several times players that seemingly AFK/place their characters right dead-on on top of the summoning bells in markets, almost as though they did that on purpose. These stunts seemingly cause much inconvenience to all players in the area as I imagine we all might have to pan our camera to search for a spot to click on it every time these trolls appear, and/or spend extra time and effort moving our characters to a spot that will enable us to do so. At least that is what happened to me several times and I find this very very frustrating when it happens. Can I check if it is just me, or have other players encountered this problem?

Also if this is a legitimate issue, can I suggest to the team maybe implementing a tiny cordoned-off area on the retainer summoning bell object itself or surrounding it, so that no other PCs can step on it? I imagine this might be to the benefit of a lot of players welfare.

If it is not, or this problem has already been discussed before, my apologies. Someone please let me know and i'll close this thread or take the appropriate actions.

    Thank you!

Don't click, use your keyboard to interact. The default keybind is 0 on the number pad if you have a standard keyboard (assuming you haven't reassigned that key to a different function). If you don't have a standard keyboard or reassigned it, go to Keybinds - System and see what Confirm is set to (top of list).

Make certain you're close to and facing what you want to interact with (the Summoning Bell in this case), and that you don't have something else targeted. Hit the Confirm keybind once to select the object and a second time to open its menu. You should be good from there.

This also works with interactive object in instances, like the Magitek Terminals in Praetorium. Continuing to click the Confirm keybind will "highlight" the first menu option then hitting it again activates that option.

On PC, press and hold X to turn off player targets, which leaves just the summoning bell target clickable

Also, pressing numpad-0 works exactly like pressing the confirm button on a controller as well, so you don't even need to press X to disable player/minion names and hitboxes if you don't want. There's options for PC players!

Thank you all for the replies. And holy crap, the NUM0 and NUM. really made it simple. Just tried it, thank you so much for the solution. I'm still used to mouse+wasd but for those rare occasions that I have trouble clicking I will opt for this method instead. As for the "x" button, I rebinded it unfortunately, but I get what you mean about the toggle off player targets and I will keep that in mind too in the future.

Still, I don't think I'm the only person out there facing this issue, and I'm sure not all are aware of these functions. I just hope now that somehow more players in my situation would be able to see this and save themselves some frustrations. Or even better, I hope in fact not much players out there even face this problem in the first place.

    Thanks once again!

You're not, there should have been spacing around the bell from the start that prevents people from standing right on it. It's a high traffic area and it should have gone without saying that excessive player counts were going to be a problem. Crowds preventing you from seeing your retainer, jerks hiding the bell, the Triple AAA hand holding and restrictions SE has time and time again force fed me have really fallen short here. Won't let people land on pieces of land that in no way break the game or inconvenience anyone but you'll let a buff male Roegadyn wearing nothing but a pimp hat and thong give himself a jingly colonoscopy for all to see?

inb4 anyone says go to your inn room or a less populated district, press x to click through players or use targeting if it's a problem. That may partially solve part of the problem with bell interaction but not the entirety of it, nor does it improve the user experience as a whole.
