This game needs to give us all our skills at lvl 50.

Straight out of box, this game should grant our jobs all their skills at lvl 50 and there is quite few really strong reasons why it should be done that way.

First, content under lvl 80 will become more relevant and fun to play thanks to the complexity of jobs being available at lvl 50 instead of 80. There is massive problem with few jobs like DRK and WAR which are unbearable to play at lower lvls, its simply boring to use same few skills without any mechanics for 20+ minutes, it needs a change.

Second, game will start up way better for newbies as there will be more skills distributed between 1-50 lvl and it will make it more interesting for them to lvl up their characters and discover more fun each few lvls instead of 10-15. Lets be honest here the game is notorious for its early level slow combat pace which turns people away from the game stronger than ever, its getting so slow to the ridiculous level and its not good for the game itself, if we want this game to last we need make it more interesting to play earlier.

Third players who are trying their jobs for first time will have infinitely more time to learn the skillset up when lvling up to 80 lvl as they will have everything available at lvl 50 and could learn on the less relevant content instead of lvl 80 content. So when they reach lvl 80 or 90 in future expansion they will already have a lot more knowledge on their jobs and thus perform better. Not only that, but it will also allow less experienced players to learn their skills on casual lower lvl content without any stress of ruining other people day on newest and highest lvl content.

And fourth, World of warcraft next expansion introduces a lvl squish, which is a phenomenal thing they decided to do which will bring a lot more people trying out other classes. FFXIV will be left behind if SE will push lvl up to 90 and then divide our skillset into more lvls, which is not going to be good in the perspective of someone who want to choose which mmorpg he want to play. If SE decide to not change their strategy it will only make game slower and slower, where the largest competitor will allow their new players to blast through the game giving more fun and excitement.

SE should think about squishing skill lvl requirements into 50 lvls and do a rebalance of the older content or even bring its old values, because i really dont see newbie players getting 90 lvls in order to play their jobs in a proper way, there is no way in hell it will make him stay that way. There is nothing wrong in lvling and i think SE should just let us lvl up to 90 lvl in next expansion and it would be even better if we were allowed to experience old content as it was designed to be.

    Thanks for reading this.

I don't truly understand why they don't. I get the whole is that they introduce you into the game and job's mechanics and a lot can overwhelm someone but I think getting the rest at lvl 50 is totally fine.

As the game's lvls get longer, the harder it is for new players to stay engaged since 70% of their kit doesn't come together until much later.

I don't agree because we kinda do have a Job that essentially has very little changes from level 50 to 80, Monk.

Monk's gameplay never changed much from ARR to ShB. In fact, most of the skills monk gets are pretty niche and doesn't really change the core rotation that much at all. So as a result, the general opinion around MNK is pretty negative.

I'd rather have them reintroduce old class skill classes and abilities, and have those class abilities be slowly phased out or turned into traits as you get more Job skills and abilities, kinda like having to reapply Kiss of the Wasp at lower levels, but turning it into a Trait come level 60. This would also have the reasoning that "your blades are always coated with venom" and you never forget to coat them ever again.

Or maybe have old Stoneskin and Stoneskin 2 back as a CNJ, then have them slowly be phased out and be replaced with Divine Benison, having the lore reason of "You've successfully infused light aether into the technique, and focused it into a stronger barrier".

The consensus on these forums is that the game is too easy. Everyone proclaims that every chance they get, it seems. Unlocking every ability at 50 would, I assume in their minds, make an easy game even easier.

It would effectively trivialize all content between Heavensward and Shadowbringers.

Unless they severely bump dungeons up then no way, stuff dies too fast with what we have anyway. Plus it makes leveling up less enjoyable to me since unlocking new abilities gradually adds to the experience.

We should not get all the skills at 50 but they should redo at what lvls we get everything.

OF is a meme and it's too grey to be helped. So I'm not going to try anymore.

Quite interested in seeing how the level squish and expansion concept goes, as it is in essence something I've suggested for SE long ago (well suggested for in future tense as in 'not needed yet but I hope you guys are minding the future').

Definitely seems nice to have your skills sooner, some jobs do get an interesting-ish remix in that you have to play differently based on what level bracket you're in.. but in general it just means doing less, which isn't that great of a feeling.

If they don't do a level squish I think at least letting players sync their skills could be nice, such that the potencies are synced on a tax like scheme (reaching certain thresholds taxes the potency, potentially multiple times)- so that they're still in the same power tree but also vaguely balanced to other skills normally found around that bracket. You'll still do more damage even though the numbers are vaguely synced since the power tree is maintained and often oGCD / special effects.. and so I'd recommend perhaps tiny procedural tweaks when you have ability synced players present (make dungeons not just purely easier than they already are).

Like maybe you get hit harder (amount based on how much you've synced, and not to dark soul tiers but hard enough to remind you to play the game), perhaps enemies are more likely to use abilities, maybe even the enemies are more likely to use abilities on the ability synced players particularly (good for new and old players lol), extra trash packs that drop treasures, something that isn't necessarily simply HP sponge changes which is my least favorite difficulty change.

Anyway, it would be neat however it happens- if they squish or sync or whatever.. lots of ramifications to consider based on whatever choice but it would be nice not to think I need to open up a video to watch when going back to older content in roulette (because its like 4 abilities all on gcd, with sometimes an ogcd if you 'really wanted to').

Not that I think the content is that difficult currently, but yeah, Id have to agree with this sentiment. Giving you all your abilities at lvl 50 would make the game ridiculous.

I do feel a part of the game the devs tend to be incredibly poor at in terms of balance is handling skills between lvl 1-80. While some classes have their kits pretty much by 60, others dont really become functional til capped. And in either case, the playstyle and grueling nature at times of low level content in regards to skills is noticeable. Monk is clunky, boring, and frustrating early on. So are many classes. It's to simplistic at times.

But of course there is the conundrum of player skill floor being abysmal and not requesting any level of skill in content. Seeing some tanks literally stand in AoEs and not cool down, or DPS who ignore environment mechanics, or god forbid a healer cast a dps spell on occassion when they dont have to heal is a bit frustrating at times.

I'm all for it. Being able to play with your full kit would make running old content A LOT less boring.

Just drop the maxinimum ilvl synch by 20 points or something for all instances, or by whatever amount roughly balances it out.
