ffxiv blue mage does have mimicry, your right but a BLU mimicry tank still raise and heal using white wind, a DPS can use Esuna and heal, while they do set roles for themselves, they can do other actions no other job in the game can, and thats being a hybrid.

Red mage can heal and raise :3.


Paladin can cure with significant power, for a few casts at least.



I figure you mean to suggest the rules of how far from the core a job may go are looser for blue- but I want to point out even our core jobs have some variety. We've quite a few jobs with potential stretch. Plus blue tank has awful damage, minus gimmick spam. I'd only really give credit to healer blue as if you have the oGCD you can heal and do more than two damage spells.
