Job UI Gauge reseting

I know exactly what I'm doing.

This is not the first time this has occurred.

There is nothing wrong with my PC.

There is nothing wrong with my files.

This is an in game bug, or an issue with a "hidden" UI threshold.

Bug Report/Issue:


Hello, I am having an issue, or bug, wherein, the UI elements of the menu/UI system for FFXIV "resets" or restores, to the "default" location.

This is most bothersome, because the items included are the Job gauge UI elements.

After discovering this issue, I have proceeded to stop "moving" additional UI elements, and for a longer period of time I was able to play without any UI elements or job Gauges resetting... except...

I noticed after I played the job "Blue Mage" this error or issue seems to occur more often.

I feel, based on my experience with this bug/issue, that it is related to 1 of 2 things.

1: The job gauges/UI elements are based on simply opening or utilizing too many UI elements. (Or in other words, playing the game to its fullest, wheren you are trying to play with a custom UI, where menus and job gauges are not in their "default" position.)

2: The job gauges/UI elements reset to default after an unspecified number of UI elements are moved?

I honestly have no clue. Because as I said, I stopped moving UI elements in hopes that the more important ones, such as job gauges, and such are not reset.

This is important and bothersome due to the fact, my UI such as the saved UI elements for hotbars, and or the "HUD layout" in general, is based or positioned in relation to the job gagues. so when they reset, it is more difficult to get them in the preferred spot after they have reset.

Party or solo: Party or solo. Both.
In-game time: 3:55pm Eorzean time
Area and coordinates: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks
Housing: Housing locations cannot equip job stones.



Steps:
1. Equip a main hand weapon for a battle class, such as: Warrior, Paladin, Monk, Dragoon, Bard, Black Mage, White Mage, Scholar, Summoner, Ninja, Dark Knight, Machinist, Astrologian, Samurai, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Dancer, Gunbreaker.
2. Job gauge UI element appears.
3. Open "HUD Layout" and move job gauge UI element to desired location.
4. Click "Save" on HUD Layout menu.
5. Open Menu, Open "Actions and Traits" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
6. Open Menu, Open "Currency" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
7. Open Menu, Open "Character" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
8. Equip a main hand weapon for a battle class, such as: Warrior, Paladin, Monk, Dragoon, Bard, Black Mage, White Mage, Scholar, Summoner, Ninja, Dark Knight, Machinist, Astrologian, Samurai, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Dancer, Gunbreaker. That is not one previously utilized.
9. Open "HUD Layout" and move job gauge UI element to desired location.
10. Click "Save" on HUD Layout menu.
11. Open Menu, Open "Armoury Chest" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Inventory" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Chocobo Saddlebag" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Companion" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Mount Guide" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Minion Guide" and move the UI element menu to desired location.
. Open Menu, Open "Blue Magic Spellbook" and move the UI element menu to desired location.

At this point I cannot tell if when moving things around that I was kinda spamming and moving menus, and it seemed the moogle mail "Sent" letter ui element moved to its default spot again. or simply moved based on another menus location? I will continue this test.................. until a more "solid" menu/ui element resets....


Yes... at this point UI elements are now resetting.



Next Step:
## Target another player.
## Click "Examine"
## Click "try on"
## Click " Enable Dye preview" from the tryon screen

At this point the location for "Enable Dye Preview" UI element should have reset to its default location.

This test was performed with a brand new fresh default UI. without logging out.

Additional Note:

There are many many many many more menu items not "moved" or "saved at desired location" that are part of the FFXIV experience.

These include
Duty UI elements (such as duty action, or pvp adrenaline bars.)

Other Gold Saucer UI elements including:
Lord of Verminion UI elements
Cuff a Cur UI elements
Monster Toss UI elements
Crystal Tower Striker UI elements
Jumbo Cactpot UI elements (yes different from mini cactpot)
Chocobo Racing UI elements (if any)
The Moogles Paw UI elements
Out on a Limb UI elements
The Finer Miner UI elements


All remaining Job Gauges

Chocobo/Companion Gear Menu UI elements

Other random UI element Menus such as:

The Doman Enclave Donation menu UI element
Ulan's Note and other Anima Weapons UI elements. (Light farming UI element etc.)

The list goes on and on and on and on..

whatever the "generous default setting" created in version 2.0, was not nearly enough to occupy the shear amount of menus added over the years, and I imagine will continue to be added over the coming years.

Additional Additional notes.


The job gauges that reset causing me to create this thread, and perform this test, were the jobs at the current time I had not played in the longest amount of time since ... whatever caused these Job gauge UI elements to reset.

Namely
AST, SAM, MNK.

From the time I last played these, I had not moved any UI elements to my knowledge. The only thing I can think of, is I did start playing Blue Mage more often, and was opening more menus I had not opened in a long time, such as the Fishing log and Fish guide, which the fish guide specifically probably hadnt been open for at least over 1 year or probably before even version 5.0 released if not also a year or more before that, as I never use this menu but did today.

The time span from playing these three jobs, to engaging in some fishing and Blue Mage activity could not have been much longer than 1-3 months at the absolute most. These are the only UI elements/Job Gauges that have reset to their default location, so this could not be because of any file errors, updates, or any other issues, as literally these are the only things that have reset. Absolutely no other UI elements have reset.

Note: The fish guide and fishing log menus are in their default location, and had not been moved while using them.
