Stop ignoring the Armoire!

This is Thread Nr. 100 Billion about why tf they won't let us store more gear in the Armoire.
Especially Job Gear!

Just throw it away and rebuy it from the Calamity Salvager you say?
Well.. that's a crappy solution!

1. Calamity Salvager Gear is NOT AUG-MEN-TED! So i would have to re-augment it in order to be able to dye it! F that!
Nvm the fact that they dont even have all of the Job-Gear.
Like Lvl 60 DRK Job Gear for example.

Anyway...

2. Let's assume my Glamour Dresser is full (it always is).
- So i would have to rebuy the Job Gear
- Remove some stuff from my Glamour Dresser so that i have room for the Job Gear
- Create my Glamour Plate
- Remove the Job Gear and throw it away (welp)
- Put the other stuff back and waste some Glamour Prisms in the process (not that they are expensive but still)

That just tedious and stupid.

All the Cash Shop and Event stuff can be put into the Armoire (except that one Minfilia dress for whatever reason).
So it cant be that hard!

With the increased and still increasing popularity of this game, me thinks the devs have to invest more thought into really obvious QoL changes.
Like that Market Board... god.. dont even get me started on that.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure you cant put cash shop stuff (besides old event stuff) in the armoire, and tha has been a gripe of mine for a very long time.

This is a great annoyance for me as well. They really should find a way to either add purchased items to the armoire or let you repurchase the gear via the calamity salvager or something.

I don't think either is likely because of the nature of greed indicated that it would be better for the bottom lien to for players to rebuy the same gear in the event that it was lost.

They should really just make a glamour log. Honestly, the current system is already instancing items for plates and maintaining dye information for stuff in the dresser (which wouldn't be required with a list) so this shouldn't be an outrageous demand, just let us have a client-side list that keeps track of the gear we've seen and just verify the items with server-side lists when we add them to the glam plate. Sure that'll be more strain on the servers as we populate the lists in the beginning but past that it shouldn't be much more and the level of QoL would be huge. How many people would want a change like that over some random relic content that'll be dead content in a few months?

It should at least be a consideration as a serious candidate for expansion features.

Call me a cynic, however I suspect SE would never allow the dev team to make a proper glamour log because it directly impacts retainer purchases. After all, glamour is a significant portion of what people hoard. The glamour dresser will likely be the best we'll get, which wouldn't be so bad if they continue bump up its limits and let you put it in your house.

True, I would get rid of a retainer in a heartbeat if the glam system was actually a decent feature.

They can't. SE has already been over this. The sh!tty code that FFXIV was written with won't allow it. They've had to struggle to get us the Armoire to begin with and they're quickly running out of ways to expand it as is.

Correction. They (or SE) don't want to spend the time and resources to fix it. Keep in mind, flying in ARR was cited as impossible due to crappy 1.0 coding. They fixed that... even if it was wholly unnecessary.

It wasn't because of crappy coding. It was just because the maps hadn't been designed with flying in mind.

And the question still remains whether if they'll still look horrendous seen from above or not (though I'm more of a Utility trumps Aethestics guy).
