    Scalefast Woes

    Hi Friends,

    I received only 1/2 of my order today from the Store - they told me that the warehouse shows that both items shipped in the same box, but I only received one item. (The box was too small to hold two of these items, and the weight of the package was too light to hold both items - I'm waiting to hear back from customer service regarding these details.)

    I was advised to open a complaint with UPS and USPS regarding this - is this normal? Do they pass the buck like this when they make a mistake in shipping orders?

    I've never really had an issue with Scalefast before.

    Scalefast is notorious for shipping delays and pre-order issues. A while back they screwed up royally and were taking ages to send out initial preorders of the Encyclopedia Vol 2 but people who ordered the second and third round preorders were receiving them right away.
    That said, Ive not heard much in the way of missing items not being included in the box. Though I really wouldnt put it past them. They are terrible! If possible, I'd actually open a complaint with your credit card company and attempt to get a refund that way. It may mean sending back the part of the order you received though. Good luck and as before, file complaints with the BBB too. It may be the only way Scalefast goes away. The Encyclopedia Eorzea Vol 2 preorder debacle was more than enough to justify them being reprimanded. Square Enix should really stop using these crappy third party store fronts.

    If you must buy through them, I highly recommend buying 1 item at a time. Though it'd mean more shipping. (Also ALWAYS check Amazon for the item your about to buy. Sometimes Amazon has it cheaper and faster than they do. This is especially true for the artbooks, which can also be bought for cheaper and received faster than the NA store if purchased via Amazon.co.jp)

    Thanks so much for your insight! I'll definitely take your advice the next time I would like to get something from the Store.

    This afternoon they made it right, after emailing back and forth, sending photos of the packaging, the weight of the box etc. They're going to send me the missing unit.

    I'm glad they're fixing it, but I'll still take your advice for the future.
