A petition for more Final Fantasy X/X-2 content

Final Fantasy X sold over 2.26 million copies in Japan alone in 2001, and sold 6.6 million copies worldwide by January 2004. By July 2006, it had sold 2.3 million copies and earned $95 million in the United States

One of the biggest ventures into the Final Fantasy realms, this game deserves a little bit of a bump in recent years. People have been flocking back to the re-release recently and so I must ask why we're not cashing in on this? I know tons of people would pay for Rikku's X-2 Uniform, Auron's clothing, Jecht's outfit too.

What about Blitzball as a Gold Saucer minigame?
    Anima as a raid?
Wakka's class or Yuna's dual pistols?

Tons of possibilities through this are being totally missed!

I am actually really surprised X did so well. It did so well, it was the first in the franchise to create a true sequel to the game. However, despite this success, it still isn't one of the more iconic titles in the series like I, IV, VI and VII; the very same titles popularized by American culture due to those games being released in the US with only VII coming in via the wave of next gen consoles at the time. VII is also the one that has very little collaboration with XIV as far as the character's go. We have minions, a limit break using the buster sword, materia, the MGS, outfits, cosplays, the list goes on with the exception of any of those characters and/or plots showing their face in Eorzea or the First.

Blitzball has been brought up several times, and I think Yoshi is reluctant to bring it into the game (not official, just my thoughts). It can't exist as it did in X. It was all RNG, and if it was to be here, there needs to be some element of skill involved.

Anima would be a wonderful, wonderful raid!

Pretty sure Wakka's class designer was on something. I would not expect any volleyballs to make the final cut as a weapon design.

I think a lot of players want to see this with the FF title they love the most. I've been waiting for them to do more with IV for the longest time. There are some callbacks but nothing to the extent the other titles have recieved.

This expansion when you are shown a glimpse of the Thunder Plains, complete with Al Bhed architecture strewn about... I was so excited! Too bad it’s on the first and that whole story is coming to a close.

X isn't my favorite of the series but I've been asking for a Blitzball minigame at the Saucer for the longest. As well as a job similiar to Wakka's called a "Blitzer" (BLZ). I think that'd be cool.

As far as I'm concerned (and I respect others with different opinions), FFX-2 was where the series ended and died for me. FF14 comes close, but once they partnered with Enix it just crumbled. I'd have zero interest in anything from FFX-2

FFX was a great game though.

I liked the job system as it felt like the natural progression from FFV that the series had up until that point completely ignored. It's take on Chemist was also my favorite in the series and Sphere Break while tedious actually isn't so bad on subsequent playthroughs. I actually wouldn't mind it coming to FF14 at the very least as a Gold Saucer mini-game. The issue was... Well... Everything else to be quite frank. All wrapped up and summarized by that one scene where you have to give Leblanc a very, very uncomfortable massage. Any time people ask about how FFX-2 was to play I break out that clip to explain the story and then have to caveat it with 'the battle system was the best thing about the game and it can be fun just for that if you ignore everything else'. However beyond wanting Sphere Break just for want of more things to do in the Gold Saucer I absolutely am not sure I want any of X-2 represented in FF14.

Personally would love to see the farplane in game but not just for boss fights, like we've some really 'wild' boss fight arenas but if ever possible I'd like a zone that just feels unreal and out there. Like Terra or Memoria in FFIX. Hyper magical, 'I don't follow the rules' zone. Last zone of ShB kind of did that, was super cool. Love that stuff.

I believe the reluctance for blitzball is primarily because they can either bring it back in spirit on in concept, bringing it back in spirit having the potential to give you a strong feeling of what it's like to play blitzball as a blitzball player (like a very streamlined very fast paced pvp mode) or they can bring it back in concept which will obviously be similar to how it was in FFX (top down control the whole team, almost akin to another minions of verminion). Also if they bring it back in spirit they've to consider that some people will not handle the 3d element very well and dislike it just because of that (battling in 3d can be strange sometimes).

Lulu's costume designer and animators might have had some fun too lol.

It's kind of funny. III is my third favourite game in the series (IV followed by V precede it), but even I am shocked how much it permeates FFXIV. Shadowbringers is basically like... FFIII fan fiction, like what if we played as one of the Warriors of Darkness that peceded the heroes from that game. The five Warriors of Darkness in FFXIV even have jobs that represent the order you get the crystals in the original game. Keep in mind this was already after we got a whole alliance raid series that is just like one place from that game, with many of the key actors like Doga, Une, Xande, Cloud of Darkness, etc. all present. Then we get an expansion loaded with references (they even have Doga's lute show up), and plenty of small nods all across the product. Not to mention Eureka. It's a lot, though strange.

Not counting 11 (since we are kind of playing a spiritual successor of it), 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 12 all got some form of considerable content or influence, though I feel like 1, 3, 5 and debatably 6 are the only ones where I feel we've had a satisfactory amount thus far. I'd like to see more from the other games, especially 4, 9, and 10 which just have remarkably little. I do think we will go to the moon eventually which will probably be full of 4 references.
