Kicking people out of your house

I've always wondered why the ability to kick people out of your house isnt a thing yet. I feel as if there should be a system where you can manually lock unwanted people out or keep people blacklisted out of your house.
With the game having a big RP community I believe it would be beneficial to people who are being disrespectful or just being trolls I'm general.

It's really frustrating when the GMs can't even kick someone out of your house that you don't want there.

The game isn't built to enforce that sort of restriction on an individual player basis. If my understanding of the system is correct, it can't even be set up so only people on your friends list can enter your house because your friends list is stored client side, not server side. Likewise, the blacklist is also stored client side so blacklisted players wouldn't be prevented from entering either.

The other games I played that included housing didn't allow me to kick out specific players either. They did have the option so only people on my friends list could visit if I didn't want random players to have access.

If you don't want random people visiting your house, then you need to disable guest access. Only turn it on when you want others to be able to enter.

If someone in your house is engaging in actual harassment or other activity that is specifically against the Terms of Use, report it to the GMs. But remember that by leaving guest access enabled, you've given all other players permission to be there if they wish. Someone staying in your house after being allowed to enter is not harassment. Removing all their gear and sitting in your bathtub is not harassment. It's still not harassment if they choose not to leave after you politely request that they do so.

The few times I've run into people doing questionable things in my house, I just say "hope you're having fun, feel free to come back any time, the door is always open", then go on with what I was doing as if they aren't there. I've never seen them come back (though I suppose it's possible they have when I wasn't there). Many times, they're doing those things just to try to get an angry reaction out of you. Don't give it to them. If you don't respond their little game stops being fun, they get bored and eventually move on.

What if it's like an FC causing trouble in your SFW RP venue? Could I at least put "If you're associated with 'X FC', you're not welcome here?" on my estate placard without getting flack for it?

It could potentially be seen as harassment and wouldn't be enforceable regardless. If guest access is enabled, then anyone can enter.

If there is someone actively disrupting your venue operations, report it to the GMs with specific details. Most disruption would fall under Nuisance Behavior though if they are behaving in a NSFW fashion in your SFW venue, report them for Harassment/Indecent Expression.

If it's a case of you just don't want them to be able to enter but they're not actually doing anything disruptive, you're out of luck. SE doesn't seem to be interested in adding a whitelist/blacklist system to housing. You'd need to disable guest access and only temporarily enable it when you want to allow someone to enter then immediately disable it again.

I had a guy a few years back just sitting on my toilet for long periods of time. I spoke to him 1x then just ignored and he finally went away. Hopefully he was perusing the DSM i left on the tank top...

"I ban thee" and "Remove thyself" were the best.

Even just a simple filter like the islands have would be a tremendous improvement: friends list and/or FC members can be toggled off and on. Ideally though if you block someone they wouldn’t be able to enter your house.

Thanks for the advice. I just added OOC info to my character's backstory carrd along with my venue's menu carrd as well. As long as it's not "in-game" it shouldn't be seen as harassment, even though they are the ones harassing me. Just gotta hope the trash takes itself out at this point.
