    Repairs need scaling

FFXIV does not scale repairs when going to repair your gear. If my weapon is at 1% durability its 5k. If its at 80% durability its still 5k. If I want to repair my sword and its at 80% it should only cost me 1000 gil.

Take WoW for example it has durability and repair system in place. However the price of my repairs scales to how broken my gear is. If everything only missing like 10 durability or something then its fairly cheap, if my gear is almost all broken and has low durability then its expensive. FFXIV should do something similar.

For someone who just got their first job to 50 repairs are a huge gil sink, makes it worse because they don't scale. 5k an item adds up really fast. This leads to players waiting until their gear is about to brake to get it repaired you might be doing something and your gear breaks while doing that AF quest or something. It brakes at the worst time because you didn't want to spend all your gil repairing because it still had 40% left.

Basically what I am saying is we should be able to repair gear every time we are at a repair npc without having to worry about getting the best bang for our 5k and the price should be scaled to how broken the gear is.

5000 X (% of durability lost) = Repair cost. This should be the formula used for repairs.

I think it encourages ppl to seek repairs from players rather than just go to the repair npc. Scaling it really just defeats the purpose altogether, no one would lf repairs anymore at that point unless they wanted to trade or sell something.

Except I could idle in Ul'dah for hours with my repair flag up and no one will repair them, even a shout doesn't do much for me most of the time. I'm all for scaling repair costs.

My main gripe is not being able to chose which gear needs to repair and someone waste 500 gil and a DM on an item at 86% durability, when there is a 0% I really want repaired.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you, gear damage doesn't do anything until you hit 0% and would need to pay the full price anyway. There are Repair NPCs at all the camps now so no matter what you are doing it only takes a minute or two to grab a repair.

Thankfully this is coming at some point, it really is my only gripe too.

I said this months ago and yea it pretty much got ignored.

It would be nice also that in the gear window repair function you could set the level of durability to be fixed <75% <50% <25%.

I seem to recall a dev quote in the past saying that they intend to add this.
