Thread: Letter from producer- picture and 5.3 launch

QA is one of the worst things to be doing in this environment. Like if you actually have a problem it's so much easier to be able to get someone to just come there and look at it, maybe take the mouse. No amount of screensharing, modules to split control, sending screenshots, calls or IMs will really substitute that... The virtualization in particular is going to suck if they said they are already having hardware performance problems. Nevermind the compromises to the shared testing environment. Especially since this is the patch with the ARR revision.

Basically 2 months behind schedule which will have reverberating effects on the next patch and the expansion cycle as a whole. It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

Nothing but support from me. Staying safe is way more important than some patch. I’ll be there on 8/11 with bells on!

The delay is fine by me, bummed obviously. But it is what it is. They're health and safety are whats important, and making sure the patch is good to go. But man I just wanna know what new pretty gunblades we are getting.

I'm almost done with most of the content I wanted to complete in the game for right now so while the delay is personally unfortunate it is absolutely understandable. Thanks to the team for keeping development going even as they have. It sounds like has been a major upheaval that they're worked through while still coming out mostly okay. I can see myself taking more of a break before things get rolling again but I'll definitely be back in full force then.

And I quite appreciate that they are straight up telling us that this delay will not just be for this patch but will persist for the future as well. Hopefully this gets out a little ahead of the whiners who will complain when everything up to and including 6.0 (and beyond) will be coming out later than they expected.

Towards the end of the letter he mentions the 5.3 special site. Is that up yet? I tried to find it through the shadowbringers website and I only found up to 5.2. I can only assume 5.3 site isn't ready yet or it's a seperate site. Does anyone know for sure?

It's not up yet. It's usually announced through the news bulletins on the lodestone. Presumably it'll be soon, though.
