    Leaving duty debuff issue

I was in a duty for over 15 minutes and left because the raid group didn't get the mechanics of 1 of the edenverse fights...the 3rd 1(iconoclasm?). I'm a pve mentor and have done the fights multiple times and never "lost" one i joined. Today was different.

I explained the mechanics to the 20 people(i'm exaggerating) that seemed new. We died about 4 or 5 times in the fight so even after I explained the mechanics I decided to leave, mind you it's after the 15 minute mark of the raid group.

To my shock, i got slapped with a 30 minute debuff. I left a very crappy party that couldn't make it passed the dps check because the dps kept dying from the umbra/umbral light switching. Remember, I explained how to do it and they were still dying. This wasn't the savage version either.

I think us PvE mentors shouldn't be subject to this punishment when leaving a group. There was no way we were gonna do it so i left. We get punished in the raid group because we get frustrated and then get even more frustrated when we get slapped with this 30 min debuff after we leave. Mentors should be immune to these penalties period.

id agree, but unfortunately most mentors leave or dc scam expert trials and im usually forced to explain stuff alone so no.

No you shouldn't. I've lost count how many times I've seen "Mentors" bail from a group when it's content they don't want to do.

The intent of being a mentor (if not how it gets treated in practice) is that you have agreed to volunteer your time to mentor a group, not give them a few tips then walk away and leave them to it. You do your best to guide them to victory whether successful or not - so there is no need for you to have a "free exit" clause. That's the complete opposite of what you signed up to do.

the first person to leave a duty that isn't a pre-formed party always gets slapped with the 30min penalty. that is your punishment for leaving a duty mid-progress. the game doesn't take into account the circumstances as it has no way of knowing. if you want to leave a duty without a penalty there are ways to do it. the vote kick option is available after 5 minutes. you could ask to be kicked or initiate a vote yourself to remove someone who may be acting in bad faith in the party. the other option is after 15 minutes you can choose to initiate a vote abandon. this will end the duty and everyone is ejected without penalty (assuming the vote passes). if it doesn't, well then either you sit it out or take the punishment for leaving.

You want mentors to be able to bail from a duty ... let the fishing for easy stuff commence! Its obviously a horrible idea, your idea would work in a vacuum in which all mentors are good boys and only want to help new/any players.

Which is not even close to the truth, for a good part of the Mentor base its a icon ... not a mindset. There would be tons of abuse.

If a party does not want to abandon it means they want to continue and (possibly) learn, if you leave early you go against what the group wanted ... you can make this choice at the cost of 30min "penalty", which lets face it ... is nothing, theres so much stuff to do in game that is not done on duty server ... or you make some food, take the dog out w/e.

Iconoclasm was a hell for me. I read a guide, watched video and still died every time. I'm slow for that one xD. I'm a mentor on my main now and I spend hours in extremes. Don't que for mentor roulette if you give up after 15 minutes.

    *Waves* Hello

Unfortunately what will happen is many mentors will start leaving extreme trials and longer duties while grinding the roulette for their mount :P

The 15 minute minimum duty time only applies to premade parties when using duty roulette, it's to stop premades from fishing for a more preferable duty (if it's not a roulette, there is no penalty at all). If you are in a matched group, the first person to leave will always get a penalty.

Mentors should be immune to these penalties period.
Most mentors are already not worthy of the title (burger kings) and would just abuse this privilege.

I'll take "Worst Change to Mentor Status" for 5,000,000,000 please.

Mentors should NOT be immune. If anything, the penalty should be worse for them(and yes, I am one). "Mentors" already abandon anything and everything if they do not like it. Hell, 99% of the stuff can be done synced down through the mentor roulette if people are actually listening and paying attention when stuff is explained, but unfortunately a lot of people don't listen/care.
