    Unable to find DivX Device

    Hello all,

Everyday when I log in after about 10 minutes of play I get kicked from the game with a message telling me that FFXIV could not find the DivX Device. I restart the game and everything works fine for the rest of the day. Any suggestions on how to stop this? While the game works fine after the initial dc, it is still pretty annoying.

    Thanks!

are you sure you dont mean direct-x device instead of div-x.
If thats the case it's a graphcard driver crash.. have seen that only once at my computer activating a leve and its a ff14 problem not a driver problem tho updating drivers may change your luck of it working right.
DivX is a video-driver for movies (codec) avi/mpeg and the like.. if its divx then you either miss the codec or it crashes and should be updated to the newest version

Right, I'm pretty sure it says DivX but I'll have to wait until the next crash to see if it happens again. It seems to occur regardless of what I'm doing, but like I mentioned only once a day when I first log on

It's strange that it only happens once.. you'd think if its truly the DivX codec.. that it would happen over and over again .
At least it only happens once.. even tho it's annoying. beats not being able to get online at all lol

Strangely this has happened every day since I started playing. Yet it hasn't happened at all since I posted this...apparently the solution is to complain...

It could be a popup occuring on your screen such as an antivirus warning or something causing full screen to exit without shutting down. I had to same problem and I solved it by using windows mode on a large sized window so its just like full screen anyway. Try windows mode and I dont think you will be getting more direct x errors.
