Would be cool if (real) Scions end up WoL antagonist. I'd love that. They should take more risks with the story. I'm still dissapointed Thancred isn't dead, they had the perfect opportunity to have an impactful and emotional death but no, you just see him 5 mins later chilling with the rest of the scions as if nothing happened. Wth?

It's definitely jarring to see him alive and well, but they did set up for it in advance - while we took the trolley south, Urianger went to meet up with the twins and then catch up to us later. So those three (being two healers and a red mage!) would have been travelling through the same place and found him there, presumably in the nick of time.

Character bloat is a problem though and knocking some character out of the game could up the stakes and add more focus to the remaining characters. We got all the Scions bodies totally vulnerable at the moment and nobody's come knocking to try and take them out despite the security being a joke.

Honestly, after the Sultana turned out alive, I kind of threw major character death out the window outside of very few instances as they can very easily feel “game of thrones“ cheap. A good character death is something built up and earned, especially in sacrificial deaths like shiva.

All that said I think the only really impactful death so far is Hauchefant.

I never for a moment thought Thancred was done because it’d have felt too cheap, especially after the tedious fight just before.
