Tidbits for future Expacs! What are your wishes?

Yes, we all know everyone wants Housing fixed. Yes, we know Monk needs a revamp. This topic isn't for trying to get SE to let you squeeze 5% more efficiency out of your rotation. This is purely for fun little things you'd like to see in future patches or expacs, like the return of an NPC you really like, or a monster you want to see as a mount, or just funny interactions you'd like to spice up dialogue.

For example; I'd love to see Scions sidelined from the main plot in non-life threatening ways. Character bloat is a thing, and sometimes certain characters need to take a backseat. But could we have Y'shtola go visit her sister and assure her she hasn't done anything stupid (recently?) Or have Thancred unable to assist you on a mission because he's in bed with a cold? (Bonus points if you end up bringing him soup.) Little things that make them seem more... real, or at least points out how married to the job these lovable idiots are. You don't have to nearly kill a character in order to re-route them to the sidelines.

Seriously, if Y'shtola nearly dies or uses Flow again as a way to sideline her I am going to punch someone.

The problem with sidlining them without it being something major is given theirs and our profession is saving the world(s) theres no reason for them to stay sidelined in that instance, if the world is ending or threatening to end then Thancred is getting out of that bed, Y'shtola is cutting her vacation short.
Even when you give them important goals of their own, like how Lyse is helping rebuild a nation, what good is that if there's no longer a world for that nation to inhabit? She was sidelined by force, she'd have come if she could, but physically couldn't.
Now you could do it and they have in the past by simply giving them equally important plot things to do, like how Thancred was absent for several patches while he crept about in the Empire.
Personally though, I'd rather they didn't, I really like having them with us, most FF's you have your main party throughout and while some members come and go you often have your core team for the majority and I like that.

As for what I'd like to see, outside of the obvious ones, I'd really like to see a new healer, I'd like to see either something done with the companion system, they teased us back in 2.x with our Magitek armour being one, but the system has been long abandoned, I had hoped perhaps that was the end point for the Role Quest NPC's, they'd be travel and combat companions, and with their intergration into the MSQ my hope remains.

I want more story focus on the Warrior of Light and better character writing in general.

Also more Far Eastern armor items and gears and Replica sets of the Deltascape Armor. Tifa's outfit from FFVII too. It would be great to replace my chocobo with a Scion or retainer during combat. My Chocobo is maxed out and it's kind of boring at this point.

I'm still dissapointed Thancred isn't dead, they had the perfect opportunity to have an impactful and emotional death but no, you just see him 5 mins later chilling with the rest of the scions as if nothing happened. I want to see more legit downtime activities you can do with friends. Like actual theme park attractions; actual fun, fleshed out mini games like Majong. Not a gimmicky made for FF game like triple triad, more...Mario party? Or chess? Or stuff like Guildwars does.

Basically somethings we could do as a FC that is not combat skill or level dependent. Ocean fishing..if the boat actually moved...would be great!

It boils down to this: the entirety of my FC have played games together for well over 10 years (from FF11). We sometimes play other games together and we also have different interests when comes to Ff14, so we don’t often actually play together as much as we would all like. This eventually just leads to us doing treasure maps or wondrous tales trials.. would be nice to be silly and play tag or dodgeball...as long as it was done well.

The problem is I don’t think the engine is built for this... what could have been a very Mario-kart like racing game became quite...cheesy, so I don’t expect much.

cooler gear design, like the late allagan gear set from PVP. That was pretty cool.

More Quality of Life changes (inventory space, housing item limit increase, glamour dresser limit increase etc)

It's definitely jarring to see him alive and well, but they did set up for it in advance - while we took the trolley south, Urianger went to meet up with the twins and then catch up to us later. So those three (being two healers and a red mage!) would have been travelling through the same place and found him there, presumably in the nick of time.
