    Suguesstion: Option to move Buff icons to Job Gauges

    I have an idea for a QoL chnage involving buff icons and the Job gauges.

    the suggestion is to allow players the option to move the icons for buffs that originate from them to below/above the Job Gauges while separating them from external buffs and debuffs. Basically place a second Status Bar for Job-related buffs adjacent to the gauges.

    For example, BRD could have its SS Ready Procs above its Song/Soul gauges, DNC its Finish Buffs/Esprit, etc, AST its Synastry/Unconscious/Earthly Star buffs, NIN its Doton/Suiton/Hide/Assassinate procs , RDM its Verfire/Verstone procs etc.

    Also would like the AST sects to be incorporated into the design of its gauge in both normal and Simplified modes.

    That was actually the whole idea behind the Job Gauges in the first place. They were meant to make it easier to see when certain Job-specific mechanics/buffs were active... unfortunately that kind of got lost in their execution, and just became gimmicky and ostentatious. Hence players begged SE to make them able to be minimized (or simplified), which SE added in a patch.

    So in a way, they kind of already did that, but it missed the mark alas.

    I can see why SE took a piecemeal approach, some mechanics are debuffs (BRD's DOTs) and thus would be placed on the mobs leading to cases where multiple debuffs would get...cluttering on a gauge. Others are more minor buffs (the Same job's Battle Voice and DRG's Battle Litany), but I feel like allowing players to move the icons for the remaining buffs to their job gauge would fulfill their original intention, along with accounting for stances on the few Jobs that still have the in the design of their gauges.

    I'd like the opposite: an option to move the job buffs back into the status bar. Heck, maybe even make the buff be like a real buff with text showing up on your character.

    As a returning player, the job gauge keeps throwing me off. That's like, 4 years of muscle memory of looking into my buff bar to see my buffs. It was just more convenient to have everything in the same place.

    For jobs that don't use MP like WAR, they should swap the gauge with their resource gauge. Then yeah, using the WAR analogy, I'd like if Storm's Eye was its own neat gauge.

    I like the job gauge buff windows and wouldn't mind more things being logically shown in them; although, I do think it would be a nice QoL if they allowed players to turn job gauges into buffs too.

    Like your oath is just a buff from 1 to 100 or something. Doesn't even need to be shared to other players, just make it a local buff (ui). I say just in the sense I've no idea if they have the system to do that but if they could it would be a neat option.

    Personally keeping the job gauge on though.

    Can't you already do that by making self-buffs icons a separate element in the ATH options, and moving it next to the job gauges ?

    Not sure if a reply to me or another but if it was to me, you can make Oath gauge a buff on your buff bar? If so then Today I Learned lol. Though I've never needed/wanted to so that'd probably be why.

    I know some buffs can show up there but there were some I was assuming are located just in the job gauge. Or do you mean the buffs that aren't part of the gauge, just moving them to the gauge lol? Certainly 'similar' but I like the neat UI element and the big visual call outs and tailored informational graphics to what it is, so not exactly what I desired if that's what you were suggesting.

    I was answering to the op, sorry, i should have been more clear about that.

    In the ATH options you can totally divide the icons into 3 groups, self buffs, debuffs, and 3rd party buffs. Like in this screenshot (sorry for the size, the Lodestone is redimensionning it) :



    Under my job gauge you can see my self buffs, while debuffs are on top of the screen in the middle, and 3rd party buffs more on the right.
