Send a friend request to somone offline

I feel like we should be able to send and find friends if they are offline. It's been really frustrating to try to send friend requests and then they are like "ya I'm offline currently doing a,b,c." And then I have to remember or search through messages to find there username again whenever I find out they are online.
My point is it's really annoying. Let us send friend requests to offline players and players can just say yes or no when they get back. Or create a friend request tab.

Yes but that would allow people to friend alts and that doesn't appear to be something the dev team has wanted to do. On the other hand back around 4.2 housing release they did talk about allowing alts to use a mains house but didn't really specify how that might happen and sadly nothing more has been said to my knowledge about that happening.

I literally just made a post about the ability to friend alts and allow them to share homes. Totally hope this happens.

Maybe alt sharing, but befriended alts each time a bug is found that allows players to add their alts it gets fixed. So my guess is SE really does not like the idea of friending alts either due to RMT or potential endless to a degree storage.

Yes, because heaven forbid they be like EVERY SINGLE OTHER MMO IN EXISTENCE and let us easily move items and currency between alts. This is ALL about the paid service of extra retainers, and why I will always hate that they did this. Shouldn't have to pay an extra MONTHLY fee to get a reasonable amount of extra storage space.

While we are at it, lets make it so you have to create a new toon for job roles, because thats what most other MMOs do by default.

The stance they have taken against friending alts baffles me, tbh. I'm not sure what explanation to look at other than what Macleod mentioned above, because "RMT" is the only thing they've ever said. RMT form FCs and move gil freely; they certainly aren't bothered by this limitation. Honestly, I don't even think this would hurt retainer sales in the long run. There's some serious item bloat in this game and people who keep things "just in case" and fill their retainers now would inevitably find the same issue even with alt inventories to take into account. Plus, there's people like me who bought two extra retainers just to have one of each type for ventures.

I really wish SE would actually give an honest explanation but I'm guessing we will never get one and just have to endlessly speculate.

Honestly I just want this to be able to send stuff between my alts and my main without the need of a middle man.

Let's get the ability to send friend requests to offline people only if we can also blist offline people. I don't want people who send me unsolicited friend requests when I'm offline to continue to be able to send me unsolicited friend requests whenever I decline them, but couldn't blist them because they were offline.

While we are at it, lets make it so you have to create a new toon for job roles, because thats what most other MMOs do by default.
