Thread: The Unending Journey, Version 2.0, and You!

So after a long night of leveling Bard I decided to head to an Inn and relax and re-watch some of the cut-scene's as I was having a conversation with someone concerning some of the lore. This was when the question popped into my head.

In version 2.0 will we still be able to watch the cut-scenes that we already have unlocked? With it being a new engine and the zones being redesigned and what not it made me wonder, because some of these cut-scenes are really really awesome and I enjoy re-watching from time to time. So I really hope we'll still be able to watch them.

TL;DR Will our current pre-2.0 cut-scenes in our Unending Journey be viewable post-2.0? Will this be content that only us pre-2.0 players get to view if we are able to view it post-2.0?

That's a really good question Bobjohnson. Personally I would love to watch out older lore as well. I would think, since this being an MMO those contents would be saved, but then again, it is a rework. I don't like to assume, but I'm going to say it'll be there.

My main concern is that I assume the current zones won't be in the 2.0 client since they are being completely re-worked. How can they display the cut-scenes without the zones to render them in?

I would just really really like them to be there in 2.0. So I was hoping to raise this question on the forums since I haven't seen anyone else ask it.

Before they released the replay c/s feature, SE stated that they couldn't impliment this yet as the old areas were being reworked. And now that they went ahead and released it I believe that they will just show the c/s in the new areas, you'll probably see what post 2.0 people see when they unlock their jobs and work on job quests.

That'd work for job quests and the like, but I'm talking more about the specific pre-2.0 cut-scenes leading up to the relaunch.

I know this is low priority on a lot of peoples lists of things they'd like to see in 2.0, but I firmly believe lore is a huge part of any FF game and don't want to lose these cut-scenes, as they are really good.

So the stuff you redo, you wont get access to in the inn until done.

The stuff you have completed will have already new cutscenes anyway for the existing story and new players, so those will play as normal pretending its us (so expect us to sit in inns to see our old stories as new!).

It will be interesting tho, and the sad thing is they cant change to much without giving us the ability to redo, otherwise we'd miss out on a lot of lore.

Basic quest cutscenes and jobs/class cut-scenes will be in the game still, so that'd work. What about cut-scenes such as Futures Perfect though? Cut-scenes like that one won't be in 2.0 due to it being pre-2.0 story content. Those are the ones I'm really hoping we have access to in some capacity.
