Just curious.
If SE severely improved the account management functions and made it easy to log into FFXI, would you play it if it was included in your FFXIV sub?

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
If it was included in my XIV sub fee, I'd be all over that far more often than I am now. If you're looking for it to simply be simply easier to log in, pfft. XI is a struggle. May as well make it confusing from the very first step.
As it is now, I still resub to XI every so often to get my fix. What I would REALLY like is to have some sort of a package deal for subscribing to both. I pay a little under $8/month for XIV. When I play XI, I pay about $18/month.
With that said, the game still has plenty of people playing it, so I don't see them giving it away for free any time in the future.

Sure, I'd give it a try!
Always wanted to get into FFXI but could not get passed the tedious limit break quests and the deserted servers. Every player just ran around with their trusts, no teaming up, no MMO. Everybody was playing their own personal game. If they remade the game I'd consider giving it another go.
Personally? No. I think the trend of trash spam for trickling exp is dead for a reason. And losing DF and PF to shout in Jeuno for party members? Nope nope nope.
Now if you gave me XI classes with a more involved combat system like say, MHW, with XIV's PF I'd be all over that shit

Give it an unlimited time trial like XIV and let us download and log in with the same launcher. If I find I like it, maybe I'll pay for it.
Tediousness and XI kind of go hand-in-hand. :3Always wanted to get into FFXI but could not get passed the tedious limit break quests and the deserted servers. I think for anyone thinking about possibly playing, it's best to go in with an open mind and not expect it to play like a modern MMO. The game most definitely is still an MMO, it's just that most of your group content doesn't really start until level 99. Leveling in XI is now a pretty quick process (I can get a new job to 99 in less than a week, and that's with me being a laaazy leveler). If you're new, your first job is going to take a bit longer as you have to figure so many new things, but it's a fairly painless process. If you're jumping in solo or without someone already familiar with the game, definitely pick up an LS that caters to new/returning players. They can be super helpful for figuring out what you're doing in game.
As far as servers, Asura is the largest (I think it just about always has been). Does get a bit trollish at times if you keep shout chat on, but plenty of decent people there who will help you out if you're new.
But yes, as a whole it's not an easy game to get into, but if you can get past all the hurdles, and clunky menus, and just...odd XI things, it can be a really great game, but obviously it's not for everyone.

Nope. Those graphics are a no-go.
No, classic is better inWoW only because original team design a game for the gamers and better than current WOW devs
