Would you want a Chrono Trigger/Cross...over?

I make this thread as a means of gauging interest in a crossover with the games Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, or for concepts and characters form both games appearing in XIV in some form. I feel like the games have some relevance with XIV since SHB introduced Time travel to the main plot and delved into alternate realities and timelines, so there could be some fun to be had with the comparisons and any potential crossovers.

I'll be shouted down for this, but I am a firm believer that Chrono Cross was absolute swill (aside from the music, which is fantastic). Any work of fiction who rides onto the stage sliding along atop the coattails of its predecessor, and then attempts to carve its own pathetic little notch in the tree of history by completely obliterating said predecessor (if everything I fought for is gone, I have nothing to fight for), doesn't deserve an iota of respect. Moreover, Chrono Cross was recycled content - it's a story (Radical Dreamers) that was never written to fit the world of Chrono Trigger, and thus was (and had to be) forcibly shoehorned in at every turn (in most cases in an extremely lazy manner). There were too many characters; the characters we got were horribly fleshed out (like, worse than Suikoden - and those games deal with 101+ participants every time); the pacing was all over the place, and so on.

A Chrono Trigger crossover? I guess I don't feel strongly either way. It might be cool to get, say, the Rainbow Sword for Samurais, or maybe Crono/Marle/Lucca/Magus glamours or something. Chrono Cross can go die in a corner, though. We deserve a real sequel to the masterpiece that is CT, and I'm still waiting for it.

I loved Chrono Trigger, couldn’t get more than 10 hours into cross.. I just hated it.

As much as I’d like to see some fun crossover, I highly doubt we will see anything because there is a huge amount of collaboration that went into the game which is hard to get parties to agree to using. This is a big reason why no remake. I forget the names, but basically the guy behind dragonball is the hard one to work with I believe.

Maybe for Chrono Trigger, but this wont ever happen for CC as I'm the only one in the world that likes Chrono Cross .

If they had a Chrono event, I would want to have Magus there. He had such a great character arc. Also, no Quintessa you are not the only one. I loved Chrono Cross too.

..I’m sure I would have liked CC too if I had put more time into it...but I just couldn’t. I’m very selfish about how much time I put into a game/TV show before dropping. It’s gotta hook me from act 1!

Chrono Trigger - yes. Chrono Cross - no. That game is a mess.
