    Choosing open world farming class

I'm mostly a crafter, and have been playing scholar/paladin for MSQ queues (end of HW). I've tried using a summoner to farm things like blood, tears, bloody tears, tear filled blood, etc. but it really sucks at it. Usually enemies are in groups of 1-2, and around 20 seconds apart from eachother (I'm not really too fast), so I get these awkward situations, where I can use wyrm stance to wreck 1 mob, and then am forced to do bio and miasma for the 3rd mob onwards, sometimes not being able to use fester, etc. Also, I don't really see why I'd use ifrit's abilities over ruin III half the time during farming. I'm looking for a class that:

    1. Doesn't have this downtime after 2-3 mobs (I feel like summoner is more a bossing/group content job)

    2. Historically have always emphasized and will always emphasize single target dps (since dps tier lists probably changes every major patch)

    3. Doesn't really need a group to do its thing (monks probably not a good choice because having aggro and flanking doesn't mix? I don't know to be honest, let me know if I'm wrong about that)

Also, I usually try to low-effort the farming by using around 3-5. But I wouldn't be opposed to higher effort classes as long as I can follow the flow of the fight.

    Thanks in advance!

When I want to farm things I go with MCH, BRD, DNC. Their kits are entirely ranged instant hits.

The best farmer is your DoW/M retainer, though. You can get more items in the time it takes them to do the venture, but you can do other stuff while they do it and you can do both at the same time too if you really want to maximize it.

Tank classes are my usual choice when I need to kill things in open world. Grab 5 enemies (or more), pop defensive then AoE. Barely scratch my HP even when enemies are at level.

My other go to is WHM although it can be boring not gonna lie. But assize itself is strong, feels good to use and it have ridiculous range. I use Bard if I'm feeling a bit lazy and just want to zone out while farming. Having Peloton feels nice out of combat.

Don't forget to keep your retainers on hunting ventures while you're farming.

My main is BLM, so unsurprisingly thats what i use. Most things die in only 1 or 2 hits, the rotation is infinitely scalable, and its my class with the best gear. And to reiterate what they said previously, dont forget your retainers(or bicolor gems for ShB stuff).

Ranged Phys classes would probably be good. Red Mage probably isn't a bad choice either.

Phys melee classes tend to have a wind up period, which can make them annoying to use on trash mobs. Dragoon has a faster wind up, but you still gotta keep blood of the dragon up which can be tedious running from mob to mob, though not as annoying as Monk or Samurai.

Btw, if you need monster parts, I highly recommend leveling a combat retainer if you haven't already. It doesn't replace immediate harvesting if you are trying to craft something right this moment, but it's a good supplement supply.
