    Anima Questline Questions.

I've a few questions on the anima weapon questline,...

    • The first is bit objective. Remind me what was the point of the Singing Cluster part of it again? It feels like a runaround considering the NPCs that want us to gather them seem connected to the people that gave them.
    • More subjectively, how would you think the ARR/HW Jobs told Adashir (Toughening Up) or the Anima Weapon (Best Friends Forever) about their exploits during the relevant quests (as the context seems to be revisiting memories of those battles and places)? I can see BRD summing their adventures up in a little ditty, but I do wonder about the other Jobs.

    1. The clusters that the academic and her assistant want were sourced by them and they found two sources: Rowena and the two girls. Rowena just wants her usual payment. The girls made an arrangement to provide them, but it turns out that the assistant is unable to complete the tasks they set as payment because he's effictively an academic not versed in combat. And to top it off, the clusters that Rowena sells are too expensive for him to purchase. They all turn to you as a middle man. The girls benefit because they get the "payment" that they want. The academic and her assistant benefit because they get to continue to pursue their research at essentially no cost to them. You benefit because the fruit of that research is progress on your anima weapon. Rowena benefits because she's running a racket and makes money through the nose and off of people's backs. It's win-win all around.

    2. I'm not super into dissecting the lore behind quests, but I think they don't? I'm pretty sure it works by you reliving your memories of battles and places and focusing it with a dash of aether into something at least partially conceptually tangible if not outright tangible and Ardashir is just channelling and focusing the energy into the weapon. I.e. They just act as a conduit and don't actually participate in the reliving or experience of the memory itself. Just basing this off of memory of when I did these quests years ago and the dialogue listed on the various quest entries on sites like gamerescape. I could totally be wrong.

Contrast this with Mikoto, from the new relic questline for Shadowbringers, who takes a much more direct route for interacting with memories. None of the weapons have actually been upgraded or infused with anything yet, but with the way the story is going, memory is going to take a front seat again I think.

Well, we could say that we used Oneiromantic Pearls again, like when the repeatable quest for getting loot from Noah from the Crystal Tower 24 man, explains us reliving the events in the raid in our mind. Of course, there are none, but it's mechanisms are there.

Also, the holodecks from the Warring Triad are there for the extremes, no reason why we shouldn't have been able to holodeck the normal version... though again, there's no in game thing that states that we do.

"Relive/review your memories" has sorta been their cop out answer for repeating things that storyline wise aren't repeatable for real. They're getting pretty meta with it not, with Gangos relics.

Our echo actually allows us to rexperience our memories to a degree, that's where all the replayability is from where we're not actually able to encounter certain places again.

Some places do actually have their guardians reset so to speak (example, gubal library, the bibliotaph has a repair/resummon system as its fought in the rdm questline as well as normal dungeon)
