Atm the dutyfinder cant differentiate between people queuing for unranked and people in diamond tier, so if it says over 30min for melee it is probably an unranked guy while diamond still misses 2 melee. Just as an example. They would have to fix that first, which seems annoying to do.
Then there is the wintrade, matchfixing issue, you don't wanna give people the tools to see which 2 roles of the same job are missing. That means these bad guys can see what they can queue as in order to get no penalty or withdraw. You would check it on a popular role like range dps or tank and see 2 healer or 2 melee are missing - then you know what you have to queue as to get a pop. So it is not advisable.
If PvP would be fun and more people playing it, you wouldn't have these issues and wouldn't need these bandaids.
Feast dailies. Give bonus rank for your first win of the day in ranked matches and offer the same daily rewards as frontline for feast training queue. Add ranked decay.
I can see why they don't if only because the number of potential Bahamuts could blot out the sun
Also, I don't know about you, but it feels like they weren't able to balance SMNs damage around it's absence. I never feel like I contribute when I go SMN.
In general, in FFXIV pet gameplay really sucks. Specifically, the control sucks: it's sluggish, not gamepad friendly, and compounds on the ehhhh targeting of FFXIV.
If you look at an MMO or other genres like MOBAs, pet classes usually have a lot of potential. Usually pet healing by the master is very efficient, encouraging you to use them for harassment or putting pressure on healers or something. In general there's a lot of fun gameplay that can only work with pet classes by having a persistent entity detached from the host, like, say, damaging everything between pet and master, or have the pet attack everything from its current position to another, or an AOE around the pet.
Sadly FFXIV pet control has to be immensely improved for this to feel compelling in PvE, nevermind PvP. As it stands, in PvE it feels like a glorified DoT/HoT, and in the case of SCH you often just feels like you are doing the same thing another job can do but with a 3 sec delay. I hope they improve how pets work in FFXIV; warlock was my favourite PvP class in WoW and pet micro was part of the thrill. Until then I appreciate that they gave up on them in PvP. Maybe next expansion they'll rework pets again.
It has been said in this thread already, but I will reiterate it again:
I feel as though Frontlines is stale, and that FL is the only mode that people queue for because it has a Daily Challenge queue in the Roulettes sections. While I like Frontlines every now and then, I would rather play smaller-scale, less chaotic PVP like The Feast, or something of that nature. However, queue times for The Feast and Rival Wings are abysmal, and I’m not really incentivized to queue for those over doing other things like Duty Roulette queues.
I would like to see The Feast and Rival Wings queues under the Daily Challenge section, with an EXP incentive to encourage people leveling alts to enter the PVP queue.
The old 8-man party frontlines were great. I guess they wanted the Feast to be where players go for small scale matches.
We had that, there's a reason we don't anymore. If you move with bahamut/phoenix in PvE, you lose a lot of damage from dropped SFs/WWs or have issues with damage ghosting. Same reason Scholars lost fairies and seraph. That was why Firebird Trance has no Phoenix in PvE but you still keep the damage actions (minus revalation since Brand/FoF are very strong). It's also why I didn't play Summoner a lot in 4.x, the job was strong... if Bahamut casted akh morn if you wanted it to. You could be in line of a target but if Bahamut isn't, and often wasn't, you'd randomly see Akh Morn go off like 5 seconds later, or not at all. In a burst orientated PvP mode like Feast especially when you need to kite, it was a nightmare.
Taking egi/demi bloat in Frontlines out of the equation; and that is the primary reason why just about any PvP summoner player rejoiced at losing controllable pets. I miss having Garuda/Ifrit in PvP, a lot. I miss enkindle. But Bahamut being removed was probably the best thing to ever happen to the job in PvP, because it allowed for the damage to be redistributed elsewhere to the job and now it is far more reliable to play.
i think SE either break the frontline premade evenly in each alliance, or just disable them for 24v24v24. There can be a premade 8v8v8 version if some want to do frontline together with their friends. maybe it's my bias but i don't think the current method SE is using effectively break the frontlines. you can still easily find fine with 2 or 3 premades in one alliance and slaughter all other two.
Anyone knows why there is a 24v24v24 mode thats always on duty rotation? It's really frustrating to new players and you learn little to nothing about pvp. please add 8v8 modes.
