    Shared Inventory Across Characters?

    Hello,

I am relatively new the game and I like the idea of having multiple characters opposed to one that does all the jobs/classes. I want to be self sufficient and share crafted goods among my characters, but did not realize there is no Shared Bank like other MMOs I have played.

Is an FC Chest really the only option? And if so, it is allowed? I don't have any friends on my server so I do not know how to get help to create an FC and have someone add my other characters.

Thank you in advance for your replies!

you would have to create your own fc and then invite your alt to it. then you could use the FC chest as a "shared" bank. there is no other way to "share" inventory.

Thank you for your quick reply! Am I able to invite my own Alts after the FC has been made? Or do I need someone else to do it? I read somewhere that I cannot add my own alts.

There are three ways to join a free company.
    • A person in the FC who has invitation privileges invites someone who is online to join the FC.
    • A person who wants to join the FC finds someone who is on the FC and online, either by /search or by being in the same place, opens the FC profile from the member's search info, and applies to join the FC. The FC member does not need any special privileges for this purpose. Someone with approval privileges can confirm the application later, and does not have to be online when the join request is made, and the applicant doesn't have to be online when the request gets confirmed.
    • A person who wants to join the FC finds the FC house and opens the FC profile from the house's sign, and applies to join the FC. Someone with approval privileges can confirm the application later, and does not have to be online when the join request is made, and the applicant doesn't have to be online when the request gets confirmed.

So practically speaking, for a new FC you will need to involve a second party to join your FC at least until all your alts are in. The other person does not need to have any privileges, so you don't need to give them access to anything. They just have to be part of the FC and you need to be able to target or search them while they're online to open up the FC profile and click the Apply button, which you can then approve when you switch back to your main. If some day you get a FC house, you will be able to add newer alts without assistance by having them visit the house.

you would need someone else to do it. you cannot invite you own alts since they have to be online.

The other option is to just have all your alts in the same FC (not run by you) if they're fine with you using the FC chest to pass things back and forth between your characters.

I think many FCs leave the first tab open for general FC use for this purpose among others. I know mine does, although it's not explicitly stated. It's pretty easy to see when someone does it though since it logs everything.

I must admit, a general bank with expandable storage would be nice, so that I can manage a lot of crafting items without stopping my retainers from selling things at the same time. The whole banking system is one thing WoW had that I wish this game had too.
