My Synthesis Option is gone?

You don't have to press Synthesize a second time for normal synthesis. From the main crafting menu you press the yellow Synthesize button once to take you to the crafting interface. From there, just start using your crafting abilities.

Quick synthesis works a bit differently because you don't use any of your crafting abilties so it has a second Synthesize button in the crafting interface to get things started.
