    What's your ultimate goal in an MMO? What would you like it to be in FFXIV?

    Everyone has their own definition of an ultimate goal. For some it's social, for others it's overcoming certain challenges while others it's an item or achievement.

    For this discussion, let's keep it in terms of content.

    What would be your ideal challenge in overcoming in FFXIV. How long (days weeks, months, year+ in line with relic weapons) would you like for it to take to complete said challenge. Would this be an achievement, a title, a weapon or piece of equipment?

    Sets of Armor, each part requires something different.

    EG: Helm - NM Drop
    Body - Dungeon Drop
    Leg - Craftable
    Hands - Quest

    ect ect.

    I would also tend to like certain things that need unlocking.

    Senses of achievement is what matters to me.

    - Upgradeable
    - Lowest Tiers slight downgrade from Primal Weapons
    - Highest Tiers are Best-In-Slot

    But make it in such a way that it does not require you to grind the same content over and over, but a variety of content. Make it more difficult than just doing a handful of simple quests (i.e. not like AF armor quests).

    Magian Trials in FFXI were a good start, but I think they can go beyond "Kill X mobs during Y weather" or "Kill X NMs". As doing purely this promotes mob camping. Maybe incorporate team play through dungeons and beastman camps and reward players who invest time into it more-so than chance.

    By having an "upgradeable" weapons system, you still make the earlier, easier to obtain tiers accessible to casual gamers, but the upper "best-in-slot" tiers given to those willing to spend the extra time.

    As with Magian Trials, have the Relics able to be upgraded as the level cap increases.

    To keep Primal Weapons still viable, make them have unique properties that have situational usefulness (Additional Damage to X type mobs) as well as have slightly competitive stats.
