    sadly the 'chocobo guy' for the gold saucer etc was moved over to encounter design back in stormblood (the Ultimates, iirc).

    First and foremost they NEED the ability to move chocobos and have them stay. The amount of healing birds I've had die because they always want to be RIGHT next to me is too damn high!

    Second: They need to develop a ranged DPS bird. Have it wark, throw rocks, wing flap a wind attack, whatever but that needs to happen.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    They have a "tank" mode but I haven't figured out how to make them pull (make the first attack). I'm guessing it doesn't exist, but if it does let me know. Probably has something to do with the hatred for "pet classes".

    Hit with an auto attack, the bird will pick it up then.

    And then in about 10s if you're a competent DPS you'll be pulling aggro off the bird anyway because their aggro generation sucks.
