Complete PC freeze while playing FF14

[Gameesh]

Recently I had my PC freeze completely while playing FF14. I wasn't even doing anything; just standing there outside a retainer bell near my house in The Goblet.

No warning, no messages; nothing.

One moment it's playing the game normally, the next the music freezes and I hear a buzzing noise from my PC and the game freezes completely.

Control+Alt+Delete doesn't work, Windows key doesn't work. I had to hold down the power button to force a shutdown.

This incident has scared me quite a bit, since I haven't logged back in since then and this was nearly a week ago.

I did a complete system check, virusses, malware, drivers, updates, steam... everything.
And there were no problems found anywhere.

My PC has never done this on anything. Just this one game.

Have you tried to disable DX11 in the launcer and play with the old "DX9" version of the game? I have similar experience with FFXIV at the moment and it is only playable with DX11 disabled for me. Since playing with DX9, I had no crashes anymore.

What I have read hear on the forum, reddit and on discord servers, a lot of users with "better" graphics above GTX10xx has problems with the DX11 version. Especially since the last patch, the problems got more.

3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
4) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
5) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
6) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything

1) It's not an overheat issue. My PC's system check (including temperatures) came out clean.
2) I had nothing running aside the game itself. I do not have any custom configurations for graphics driver-level... programs. I don't even know what those are to be honest.
3) I already have this turned off.
4) The only things that are plugged in while I play FF14 is a controller and mouse. I do have a headset but it wasn't plugged in at the time of the PC freezing.
5) I have done this already.

I have searched in Windows for NVIDIA updates and there were none. I opened up my NVIDIA program and searched for updates and it too said my drivers were up-to-date.
