    Actually, you seem to be the one that have selective reading comprehension, because most of the times you respond to a FFXI topic here you automatically assume they want an exact copy of it, which so far has been untrue. Most are saying "like (x) from FFXI" because it gives you the idea of what they're talking about. Pretty much every "Make it like FFXI" topic I've seen they all agree leave out what they did wrong with it, like Nyzul or Einherjar suggestions, pretty much everyone is talking about the random dungeon layout with random objectives and the boss fights on every x floors.

    You're the one that assumes people are talking about the full "Time-sink" nature, when Yoshida himself wants to add 2 hour dungeons, which by the way, is longer than the majority of non-open world FFXI events as of today.

    We are getting Nyzul except this time its called Crystal Tower, sad for you the idea comes from FFIII and not XI /sadpandaface

    Hamlet is sounding suspiciously like Campaign which is awesome , because that was good, although It's also sounding different because it involved gathering and crafting classes also, so yes take an idea from 11 by all means but evolve the concept and innovate on the idea.

    I said the opposite.. that there will never be another like it.
    But since you seem to be interested in what I think, I would love if XIV had a similar sense of adventure, danger, suspense, living world, and accomplishment XI had. Not necessarily see things implemented from XI into XIV (though I wouldn't complain if they did).

    The irony of this statement is Final Fantasy XI was based around Final Fantasy III and used EverQuest as a base for the MMO gameplay.

    All anyone is really asking for is exciting, engaging, repeatable Content that is rewarding for your time investment (horrendous droprates do not count as "repeatable").

    Personally, I do not care where the DEV Teams ideas come from, whether borrowed, stolen or brand new, as long as they are FUN!

    As for ideas from XI, it makes perfect sense because some of XI's Battle Content would fit quite nicely in Eorzea (with adjustments for lore, beastiary, Battle Mechanics, etc.).

    It's also a very difficult task to be completely original in any RPG but esp. an MMORPG. We kill monsters, level up, gain abilities/spells, aquire new/better gear...and...well that's pretty much it really. It's all about how this simple core is dressed up graphically, if the gameplay is fun and if it feels rewarding.

    All ideas on how to achieve these 3 core elements should always be encouraged...and debated...politely.
