It doesn't exist. Tales of adventure from the cash shop exist and that is a different issue all together. There is no way to skip the story in the game without paying more for the game and that is something that should be fixed.
There's nothing to fix, they don't want you to skip it, if you do anyway then you can but at a price, that's enough.
Besides you can look at it as saving you some sub money as you're simply paying up front for what would have cost you sub money to do the normal way.
Do the MSQ or pay to skip it, the option is there, you no liking it dosen't mean it isn't there.
You aren't saving anything. You are paying more to remove a forced wall plus the sub plus the price of the game. $12(1char sub)+$25(skip)+$55(complete edition)=$87 not including tax which will bring your total to about $94 roughly. Nearly $100 as a new player to get to end game content if that's what you want to do. All you should have to pay is for the game and the sub. How you get to end game shouldn't be a factor. There's nothing to fix, they don't want you to skip it, if you do anyway then you can but at a price, that's enough.

It's not directly saving money, but consider the two routes you can currently take to Lv70:You aren't saving anything. 1. You subscribe normally and play through all three games and their patch quests. This could well take you two months (=$24 of sub payments) and a considerable chunk of your time besides.
2. You pay for a story skip ($25) and are instantly at the same point with zero time investment.
If you look at it that way, then the pricing does make sense. Depending on how long it would take you to work through the game normally, a story skip may mean you break even on "money paid by the point you reach Lv70" while saving a large amount of time.
Also for what it's worth, you don't need to factor the $12 sub into your "initial costs" calculation because you'd get the 30 free days with the initial purchase of the game.
It's not a "wall" its a large part of the game. If I only have interest in fighting endgame monster in Monster Hunter then should they allow me to skip the story and all the monsters that lead up to the Arch-Tempered Master Ranks? You aren't saving anything. Games are to be played, the beauty of them is there are a lot of them and if one lacks what you want, theirs likely one that has it.
Developers shouldn't have to put a button in their games that lets you bypass the majority of the game, if I come into a game and think "Gee, if only I could skip most of this game, then I-" I stop right there and play something else.
Having played Monster hunter worlds... I would NEVER skip that story.... some of those later fights are hard as well and happen the game slowly introduced me to each big bad slowly. It's not a "wall" its a large part of the game. Hello, nice to meet you!
FF14 player as of: 6/3/2020.
Platform: Ps4
The sad thing is that they introduced a newbie set with Iceborne that basically allowed you to cheese everything in the base game... The Defender weapons are hella overpowered in regards to the base game, and the Guardian set makes taking hits trivial. I ended up meeting so many players who had no idea how to dodge properly once they got to Iceborne because they turned the base game into easy mode.
It does exist, it just simply exists in a form you aren't happy with. Being unhappy with a feature =/= it doesn't exist at all, full stop. Nor will it likely ever be in that form unless SE is seeing a serious flood of subs leaving the game and/or goes free to play. Neither of which are likely at present.
If the game was free to play I wouldn't even make this a topic. Free to play games only source of revenue is the cash shop and I understand why it would be there. But it isn't. This is a full price game with a subscription model. Cash shops should not even exist in these games. The only reason these games have a cash shop is for greed. It does exist, it just simply exists in a form you aren't happy with. Being unhappy with a feature =/= it doesn't exist at all, full stop. Once again, I have to ask why you think a company has any other job but to make money? They're not a charity. And at least in this case we again know the Mogstation sales 100% directly go back into the game, which is what funds that end game content you keep saying people want to speed towards. If the game was free to play I wouldn't even make this a topic.
