    Angry Frequent disconnects are back

    The problems with disconnects are back after about a week of no-disconnects. Even this afternoon I played for 3.5 hours without any problems. Then After login this evening it started. In about 4 hours, I had 9 disconnects. Here is the reference to the previously reported issue:

    This time I also experienced some extreme lag spikes (which I think were just short enough to not be disconnects). Some examples can be seen in the following short stream part of my play-session:

    Look at timestamps: 0:15:50(lag), 0:17:10(lag), 0:20:33(disconnect), 0:21:55-0:22:33(lag)

    I hope you can agree that a MMO becomes nearly unplayable with problems like this.

    I'm getting 'em real bad..only on for a minute or 2 and boom. Since 11:00 am CST..going on all day! Hope they get it fixed..

    I had some bad disconnects as well last week and then it settled down. Now they're back and they're angry.

    Glad it's not just me.

    Trying to play on the Elemental Datacenter myself, lots of disconnects that appear to have been caused by the last few hops.

    Unfortunately, if you've tried the troubleshooting from previous threads and are still having this issue, we'd recommend contacting your ISP regarding the issue and making a report with them.

    What do we report to them?

    Previous discussion with the ISP states if I'm being frequently disconnected from your server (see my own ticket where the packet loss is coming from the SE datacenter), they state to contact you and it's not their issue to resolve.

    Hello Einmimiria,

    As Middie states, it is unclear for me what to report to my ISP. The only thing I know is that this is happening and it only affects my connections to the Mana datacenter as I have never had this problem with either of the EU or NA datacenters and I have no character on another JP datacenter.

    The least you can provide us with is the hostnames/ip-addresses the client is using, so the ISP can troubleshoot the particular connection. As I am mainly on PS4, it is really difficult to trace the problems myself, although I could put some routing machine between my PS4 and my modem and trace the traffic that way and send you the traceroutes. This will be a significant time investment though for a problem that seems to be in your datacenter or the connection of your datacenter to the internet.

    Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the IP Addresses (or host names) the client is using. You would need to contact your ISP and state you are having a service issue and cannot connect to the SQUARE ENIX servers properly.
