Login Screen doesn't show days of subscription left anymore.

So I started playing on the free trial. After hitting level 35 I bought the Complete Edition which comes with 30 days of game time. I've been playing with it since then until my subscription days went down to 3 days today so I decided it was time to renew.

I went to my account and renewed it, then I decided to log in and check my days left. But now it doesn't show any days left at all! It's the way it was back when I was in free trial.

I checked my card transactions and it says it only took 89 Indian rupees (which would be a little over 1 euro) so that's pretty strange too.

Is it supposed to only take money and add the new 30 days after the 30 days from buying the complete edition end or something? Or did I click something wrong while renewing my subscription?

The "one euro" transaction would be a credit card confirmation that they run when you register a card, separate to the subscription.

Beyond that, I'm not sure, but did you start on a preferred server with the "Road to 70" EXP boost? If so then I think you get 15 free days of subscription when you reach Lv30, so it's possible that you're now receiving that 15 days and your next paid renewal will come at the end of it.

I don't think it normally says how many days are remaining. If you signed up with your credit card then it will automatically renew at the end of the month, so maybe it only shows the countdown if you paid for a fixed amount of time (eg. with a time card) and it's going to expire without renewing.

I'm not on a preferred server. I didn't know buying with a credit card makes it take money from you automatically at the end of each month. I can't just manually renew each month if I'm using credit card? Asking because I only plan to play during the lockdown.

Anyway, I guess I should just play normally for 3 days and then see if it shows 30 days again? Kinda odd that it didn't take money from me right away. But it also stopped showing the 3 day countdown so my subscription purchase probably did go through, right? Otherwise it'd be reminding me to renew whenever I log in.

I think you can manually cancel your subscription at any time, and then it won't charge/renew again at the end of the current month.

The subscription also cancels if your payment fails - I use a debit card (only pays from money stored on the card and can't go into negative balance) so it only renews if I've put money on it, and I'll deliberately not do that if I want it to cancel.

Just one last question - if I cancel, do I still get to keep playing for the remaining days I've already paid for or do I need to time it myself to avoid losing out on the remaining days?

As far as I'm aware, you can keep playing to the end of the month.

Make sure you cancel your subscription and not your service account, though! There's a button for that too.

I think your money won't actually be drawn until your existing playtime runs out, and it is time to pay for the next period.

Just to add, if you use FFXIV 60-day game time cards, they show your remaining days of subscription left in your character select menu.

Sorry for the necro, but thought I would add this incase anyone was looking. If you go to the Mogstation and want to start or renew subscritions you can choose the option of doing through Crysta instead of auto renewing directly from a credit card. Some people choose this option as it puts you in control of when money is used from your credit card.
